A smile was spread upon your face,

            I looked beneath it and spied woe in its place,

and tear drops that fell - so silently,

you tried to laugh - tried to fool me,

            yet beneath your laughter,

I heard your sobs,

             and couldnt help,

myself but sob,

               You asked me, "Are you hurt? What did I do?"

                I replied, "You wont cry, so i'll cry for you."
