Harry Potter and the Warrior Cat Clans ~Chapter One is up!~

Prologue
Fear

I stared in horror as the love of my life battled ferociously with the Dark Lord, snapping at his wrists with teeth as sharp as daggers. Her fangs closed around his wand hand, and blood gushed everywhere, splattering everyone within reach. The Dark Lord screamed with pain, and he threw her onto the edge of the cliff. She nearly slipped over, but she held on tightly with her claws and scrambled back over the edge.
The Dark Lord let out an angry shout. He raised his wand and a green jet of light shot of the end. My love leaped out of the way just in time, but her hind paws slipped off the edge of the cliff as she landed. I held my breath, waiting for her to scramble back up.
The warrior she-cat sank her claws into the sand, pumping her legs in the air, trying to come back up. However, just as she got a good grip, the cliff’s edge gave way, and she tumbled over the edge.
I screamed and tugged myself away from my own opponent. I threw myself to the cliffside, and I peered over the edge. I saw her mangled, broken body laying on a jagged rock some fifty feet down. I felt tears well up in my eyes.
“Squirrelflight!” I yelled. “No!”

Chapter One
Repulsion

I blinked open my eyes, hoping once again that these past few months had been just a dream, and sat up. No, I thought angrily. Here I am in my dormitory, while they go and yuck it up outside!
I tucked my legs up to my chest, glaring into the darkness. So what if my best friend was in love with a cat? So what if he doesn’t care that he’s violating all the laws of nature?
I stared ahead, then reached over onto my chest of drawers and grabbed my glasses. I put them on, and I could see the outlines of everything in the room. Instinctively, I looked over at his bed. He was gone.
I snarled to myself. Jealously, of course. But why? Why would I feel jealous that he loved a cat? Could it be…?
No. I hate that furball. That stupid, ugly, hairy, ball of mouse-gut-eating filth. So why did I feel that sudden softness towards her?
I sighed, turning my attention to the outside, where the sun was just beginning to rise over the Forbidden Forest. I saw, silhouetted against the ground, Hagrid’s hut, the lake, and the Quidditch field. Then a flicker of movement caught my eye. I groaned. There they were, talking softly near the edge of the Forest. I felt like screaming my frustration to the world. But I knew I couldn’t. No one cared.
Then a thought struck me. What if I could scare them away from love? Maybe…
Like a bolt of lightning hit me, I jumped up, tore off my pajamas, and pulled on my clothes. In a flash I was out of the room and on my way outside.
When I finally reached the Forest, they were gone. I swore. Where could they have gone in just a minute?
And then I heard them.
“Honestly, stop making such a fuss, it’s only a little water.”
“I hate it when you say things like that.”
I smiled, then tore off into the Forest after them.
After a little while, the Forest began to get denser and darker. I couldn’t see at all anymore, so I had to rely on their voices guiding me. I began to realize that I could hear water trickling in the distance, as if we were near a small waterfall. A few moments later, I stumbled into untainted moorland. My heart was hammering in my chest from scrambling around in the Forest for so long. I sighed, then looked around for them.
A little ways ahead, I saw them walking side by side. They seemed to be heading for a dip in the ground… maybe this was that place she had once talked about…?
I held my breath as I walked forward. I hoped that I wouldn’t make a sound, for she could hear a cricket chirping a mile away. After a little while, they disappeared into the dip into the ground. I ran forward, nearly falling down the hallow. I blinked.
It was amazing. Stars lit up the pool at the bottom of the hallow… no… it seemed like stars were actually in the pool. A glittering, silvery light reflected all around, making the steep, rocky sides shimmer. I felt a pulling, pushing around me. Fur brushed my legs, and I looked down…nothing.
I shivered. Something about this place seemed wrong.
I saw them, saw her, crouching near the edge of the pool. Her voice drifted up on the breeze to me.
“Well?” she meowed. “What do you think of it?”
“What is it?” he whispered back to her in awe.
She twitched her tail, then flicked it around his wrist, making me want to gag. “The Moonpool, silly.” Her voice was affectionate.
I felt like I was going to throw up.
He closed his eyes, apparently just enjoying her company. I sighed. It’s now or never.
I began to creep out of the bushes, then jumped back in as she spoke again.
“Isn’t it beautiful?” she asked. I rolled my eyes. He never thinks anything’s beautiful.
“Yeah…” he breathed. My eyes widened. What was with him lately? “Like you.”
She smiled up at him. “You really are an idiot, Ron,” she purred.
Ron rolled his eyes. “And you aren’t, Squirrelflight?”
Squirrelflight closed her eyes, her tail in the air. “Nope!” she turned and scampered halfway up the side of the hallow, her tail sticking out behind her. “Well, come on, I don’t have all night! I’ve got to get back to ThunderClan before I’m missed!”
Ron stood up, arching his back like a cat… like Squirrelflight would. “Yeah, yeah, I’m coming.” He turned and followed her.
I stood there watching, my eyes wide. “Crap!” I snarled to myself. “You idiot, Harry, you had you’re chance!” I sighed.
The sun was beginning to spill it’s pink, orangey light on the ground. I stretched, then began to make my way back to Hogwarts. I’d have to find another way to break them up, and fast.
