My name is Alexis, im fifteen, i live in the city, and so far, my life sucks.  Throughout my entire fifteen and 3/4 of life, not one event had any excitement whatsoever.  It was completely dull.  Man, i wish something interesting would happen already.

"YEAH!!  Its October 7^th!  Ten more days till my birthday!  Sixteen here i come... heh not to mention... DRIVER’S LISENCE!!"  "Oh please, gimmie a break sis.  Your going to do so bad that after one time driving with you, theyre going to close just because your soo bad!"  "SHUT UP JASS!  What do you know!?!"  "Heh, i know alot more than you... WEIRD-O!"  "Oh, you little!  Get over here so i can kill you!"  "WEIRD-O!  WEIRD-O!  Your never going to catch me!"  Jass runs out of the room as Alexis swings a right hook missing.  "Damn little brat."  SKREEEEEECH!!  "Huh?  Oh crap my bus!"  Alexis grabs her bag and dashes towards the door.  "Later weird-o."  Jass calls.  "I told you to shut it!"  Alexis yells over her shoulder.

Outside Alexis sees her bus at the end of the block.  -Maybe if i run fast enough i can get to the next stop while everyone there is boarding.-  She strategies to herself.  She kept running as the bus stopped at its next station.  "Damn it!  darn it!"  -Crap the last person just boarded!-  "Stop!  STOP!"  As the door to the bus was about to close, it stopped and remained open.  Alexis ran up to the bus and got on.  "Thanks alot."  The driver did not respond and so Alexis took her seat next to her friend Rhy.  Suddenly the door shut tight and the bus started moving towards the next stop.  Rhy had been looking out the window staring at all the people and wondering about nothing.  "Hey Rhy, whats up?"  He jumped straight up and his skin turned pale white.  "What the hell?!?  Where in God's name did you come from?!"  "Huh?  I just got on the bus."  "But the doors were closed.  Eh, it doesnt matter."  -Hmm that was weird.  Its like he thought i just appeared out of the air.  But its ok, hes Rhy.-

The bus comes to a screeching halt as it approached Forrest High School .  The school was somewhat new and somewhat old.  It use to be a one story building until it was redone four years ago into a three story building.  The ninth and tenth graders got the bottom floor (the original building), eleventh graders got the middle second floor, and the twelfth graders got the best part of the building, the top.  Seeing as how Alexis was still fifteen, and turning sixteen, that meant she was in tenth grade and still on the bottom floor.

Everyone poured of the bus and entered the enormous school.  The hallways were painted a dark green color while the lockers were painted a light brown, to represent a forest.  But since it was almost Halloween, the hallways were covered with pumpkins, ghosts, goblins, and all sorts of weird creatures.  There were orange and black banners and confetti everywhere.  Alexis and Rhy walk to there lockers side by side.  Since their lockers where right next to each others, it was easy to keep a good friendship and be able to talk to each other during class breaks.  Alexis opens her locker while Rhy still struggles with his combination.  “So Rhy,”  Alexis starts.  “Yeah?  Whats up?”  “Well I was just wondering… whatcha being for Halloween this year?”  “Oh come on.  You still dress up?”  Rhy stated with an annoyed tone in his voice.  Alexis had been asking him ever since October started.  “So, whats wrong with dressing up?  I think its kinda fun!”  Alexis protested back.  “Its just so juvenile.”  “Says you!  Anyway, im thinking of being a sexy goth witch maybe.”  Alexis started daydreaming about how her costume was going to look.  “Hmm, a little of this, maybe some of that.  Nah scratch that, this looks better.”  “Uhh, hey Lex…”  Rhy said interrupting her train of thought.  “What!?  Oh… heh nothing to look at, just a normal girl.”  People had been staring at her as if she had three heads.  But everyone passed and went on with their own things.  “Jackass!”  Alexis swung her fist and hit Rhy right in the arm.  “Oww.  Crap, you’ve been working out again haven’t you?”  Rhy joked.  “Shut up.  Why didn’t you tell me everyone was watching me daydream?  You coulda said something.”  “Wha-  oh nevermind.”  Rhy took a look at his watch.  “Oh crap were late to class!  Come on lets go.”

Rhy and Alexis ran into the classroom just in time.  They took there spots at their chemistry lab table and waited for the teacher.  “Good morning class!”  “Good Morning Miss Darvic.”  The class greeted simultaneously.  “Okay, so today we are going to be working with acids today so make sure to wear you overcoats, goggles, and gloves.  Got it?”  Miss Darvic announced.  After everyone got their cloths they went back to the tables awaiting the next directions.  “Good, now that everyones ready, its time to pare up.”  The class scrambled around, each person looking for a partner.  “Well it looks like we’re partners Rhy!  Is that okay?”  Alexis asked.  “Isnt it always?”  Rhy said smiling.  “Okay, well the directions to your lab and all the supplies you need are at your station.  Get going and good luck!”

There were four vials each but one had a liquid in it.  One of the vials contained what looked like red jelly, another looked like plain, old, water, and the third was a greenish yellow liquid.  The last vial was empty in order for the ingredients to be mixed in.  “Okay lets see, first we put in one quarter of the red stuff.”  Rhy read from the sheet of paper.  “Hey Lex, turn on the gas burner will ya?”  “Sure thing.”  She turned it on and awaited the next set of directions from Rhy.  “Right now for the acid…”  Rhy, still looking at the paper, reached for the glass filled with the deadly liquid at the same time as Alexis.  They both knocked into the vial and it spilled out onto the counter and part of Alexis’ hand.  “Holy shit!  Lex, your hand its bubbling!”  Rhy almost fell out of his seat.  The both of them were struck with fear and didn’t know what to do.  Rhy had grabbed Alexis’ wrist to try and see if he could do anything.  -Make it stop!  The pain!  Make the pain stop!-  “Help!”  As soon as Alexis shouted the bubbling stopped and her hand returned to normal, as if nothing at all had happened.  “Whats wrong?  Is someone hurt?”  Miss Darvic ran over to Alexis and Rhy’s table.  Rhy and Alexis just stared at each other in total shock.  Rhy let go of her wrist and stepped back.  He slowly backed his way to the door and ran out with everyone watching.  Miss Darvic turned to Alexis  “What happened dear?”  Alexis stood there looking at the door and then looking at her hand.  “I don’t know.”
