Kodocha is also known as Kodomo no Omocha. It is a shoujo manga and was licensed and published by Tokyopop but was unfortunately, in 2006 "out of print" T_T. It is soooo hard to find these mangas and it's really sad because it's such a great manga! I've read all the vol. from my library and stuff but really can't find them in stores. It is 10 vol. long. It has also been turned into an anime series which runs for 102 episodes (I'm quite sure not all of it has been dubbed in eng. yet but you can find some dvd ep. at the stores of it) and before that was made into a 3 ep. long OVA. The manga-ka is Miho Obana. It is very funny and sweet. My favoritest manga ever!!! :D

    The plot revolves around a child-actress named Sana Kurata. It starts out as Sana is in sixth grade (which in Japan is the last year of elementary). She goes to a private school, had been taught in the producing Kowamari Theater Troupe, and is the star of the show Child's Toy (Kodomo no Omocha ~~ which Kodocha is the shortened form). Unfortunately, her school life is hectic and the cause of all the trouble is a boy named Akito Hayama. He runs their class with his gang of "monkeys" and tortures their teacher along w/ their P.E. teacher. He gets away with it all with what seems to be blackmail. Finally Sana can't stand it anymore and confronts Akito and tries to find ways to make him go down. Akito had been avoiding Sana because he figured she would be the one to stand up to him. Through a series of trials and error Sana finally beats him (kind of) and stops the madness, but along the way she discovered the horrible life Akito had been living.

    The story revolves around the two getting to know each other better, growing closer to each other, Sana being dense, and many obstacles that they face.

    I don't want to spoil anything so I'll stop here but this is a hilarious and sweet and must read manga! Oh and anime is great too! (~~ but slightly different as it progresses and includes extra char. such as Babbit :D and Zenjiro etc)
