Jacks beginnings

Something has been watching me, protecting me as if I were its’ precious glass, why? I see it in the shadows; peeking around every corner. Eyes sometimes glare in my direction, I haven’t really thought of it much until now. I’ve never been mugged, raped, tripped or even pranked. Today was April fools day and nothing has happened to me just like the past three years. Nothing bad has ever happened to me in the past three years. Ever since the stabbing incident it seems. Maybe it’s just my imagination or am I right? Ah, this bothers me…A shadow followed the nineteen year old from close behind, keeping close near the walls out of sight. Whirls of shadows made up this being, as along with an eye arising every now and then looking into Luccas direction. The eye was blue tinged with what seemed white crystal shards around its pupil. It let out a monosyllabic moan. The shadow slumped and seemed somewhat bored. It watched over this girl every day and it was the same thing: She’d get up, get dressed, wearing the usual pink-white striped zip up halter and brown cargo pants with sneakers, flip her blonde hair back; look at the news while eating breakfast, school, and then the midnight walks in her pajamas. It took a lot to protect this woman. She had no sense of decency and so many perverts walked around America, it was almost repulsive. Every time she went out, it was basically every half an hour he had to secretly take the stalkers, perverts, and the occasional jealous hormonal girls that came after her when she left the safety of her own house. This is getting tiring… The shadow thought to itself. Something had to give. It had been a long three years, and this shadow had other things to do. The shadow melted down onto the concrete and shifted its’ way towards the girl, luckily it was dark out so no one in the surroundings saw it move directly under her. It swayed five paces in front of her and formed as if it was actually standing next to the girl. “My god woman, do you not know the whole ‘don’t go walking out in skimpy pajamas during the night’ rule?”

Pieces of the shadow tore off in shreds circling the figure and then dropped to the floor and up to the sky forming a young man from what once had just been a shadow. Lucca was bewildered. This man was quite dashing. Short, black curly hair, black zipped gloves, black trench coat, cross earrings, dark brown cargo pants, black dress boots and a dark brown hat that gave off a cowboy appeal. His eyes caught her the most, he was a young man but his eyes looked warn and sad. They were an ocean blue topped with ice tinges. Has this being… been what’s been protecting me? The man held his hand up as a small smile appeared onto his face. “Nice to finally meet you Lucca, the names Jack, I’m the reason you haven’t even lost a sock in the last three years.” Lucca shook back, this man was the same man who had been stabbed at the concert that was all over the news three years ago… but how could this guy be alive? Who am I kidding? Man, I swear I’m going crazy or something but still who is this creepy guy? Jacks’ head perked up “Hey lady wait! I’m not creepy-“maybe he’s a stalker or something, maybe he’s waiting to take me home and “Lady I’m not a killer!-wait are you even listening to me???” Oh my god I need to get away from him as quick as possible… wait? Can he hear my thoughts? No that can’t be possible. I need to get away… and soon! “I told you! I’m not a-” before Jack could finish Lucca had run off the opposite direction, sure Jack could’ve gone after her, but she would have only ran away again and he was already exhausted. Instead, he leaned back into the cherry tree close by and gave a deep meaningful sigh. “Guess I’ll have to what until tomorrow to talk to the girl; however I don't think I have that much time." Jack looked at his Rolex that read 9:30pm "Nope no time at all.” The shadows soon returned and the young man known as Jack was gone.

Lucca ran home, locked the doors and hid beneath the covers. She was absolutely horrified. Her hands were tremulous and her mind was overcome by so many thoughts she gave herself a head ache. She didn’t know how exactly take to take this. A man who died three years ago was protecting her life, just how was she supposed to deal with that?

-She wasn’t- “Agh! I hate this so much. I don’t need this right now. I can’t handle this! I can’t see how anyone could!” She ranted in her kitchen. She had finally calmed down after hours of freaking out and minimal crying, to the point where she was able to get out of bed and start making herself a turkey sandwich.
