I have encountered many individuals who have tried to categorize anime as simply cartoons. The question: Do you believe Anime is just another form of cartoons? (I already know the answer but do you?)

no way anime is way better than some cartoon.^_^
truth be told reality is that the word anime and cartoon are essentially the same but stop for a second and consider how detailed anime tries to portray the world around it even going as far as to include landscape details of Japanese origin you will most likely see in the real world. then the saturation of Japanese culture you often find from the way the characters will dress (school based animes are a good example), to how they interact with one another. Watching anime is almost like being able to visit a country many us will probably never have a chance to visit. But its true that when you look at the nuts and bolts of the comparison, elementally were trying to compare to oranges just of different variations.

Its the same thing but anime and manga is taken to a different length I guess. Anime and manga are done with much better storyline and art than your regular cartoon and that is why most people prefer but it all depends on what you like.
anime is a cartoon, anime is the japanese word for cartoon, ppl outside of Japan categorize it specifically with Japan but its the same with manga it means comics, of course there's a certain style, characters drawn a certain, etc. But it is what it is, another thing when asked by Shonen Jump what was the first anime he watched the anime director of Bleach (Noriyuki Abe) replied that it was by Disney
