It was finally winter break and I had tons of time to relax. Know I don’t have to care about school, studying, tests, boys this was great! But the sad thing about winter break was that I was probably going to be snowed in during the whole break. My parents were off at my relative’s house so I had the whole house to myself without and disturbances! I got a shower and slowly ate my breakfast enjoying the quiet and peace. I was day dreaming (as usual) when my cell phone started ringing, on the caller ID was my good friend Maria. I was wondering if she was still a little shaken up after the mall accident. She almost fell off the second floor of the mall, but some man in a black coat grabbed her before she fell. “Hey Maria!” I tried to sound as enthusiastic as I could. “Hey Alexa, what are planning on doing this week?” Um I went through all the things I had planned for winter break, but the list just consisted of me reading, writing a report for school, and I have a huge stack of movies that I rented that I was planning on watching, so technically I was free and all that stuff that I wanted to do was just a list of things that could be done when ever. “Um I free”. “That’s great! Because I was planning on having this winter break party at the local skating rings in town! It’s going to be this Friday!” Well um I didn’t know what to say just because this was such a small town, and big parties were very rare. “And then I was planning on taking a small group of friends to go and listen to your solo practice!” What! I was yelling at my cell phone now. This was a very small town but we still did some things to keep use entertained so a couple of my friends and I decided to form this chorus. We have only a couple of songs though and we were just planning to have a small practice at our school to show what we have done so far. But know Maria is planning on bring all of her friends! I don’t mind a audience, it’s just when a lot people are watching me I kind of forget my words or trip and fall, something that can’t be good. “Are you mad?” Maria sounded sad. I sighed knowing that even if I was mad, Maria was still going to bring all of friends to the practice any way. “I don’t mind” I tried to sound as relaxed as I could. “Ok then! I’m like so excited!” I sigh again knowing that this was going to be a very long winter vacation. “Ok then I will see you at the ice ring on Friday” I hung up, and got this strange feeling. The rest of the week I just did my very long list of chores and started to watch that huge stack of movies that I had stacked up in my room. It was finally Friday, and for some reason I couldn’t shake off that weird feeling like something was going to happen. I slowly ate my breakfast not sure if I should be excited or scared. After breakfast I went back up into my room and started reading through my sheets of music, and then I started to remember this one movie that I watched when I was young. It was about this girl singer and she was a very talented singer. But some things came up and she almost lost her voice. But what stuck in my mind the most was how she had a purpose to sing, not just like singing for fun or to just show off but she wanted to reach the hearts of people. I loved to sing and at first I wasn’t very good but as the years passed by, my voice started to get better, like it was starting to reach the hearts of people. But the problem was that I didn’t have a lot of friends in chorus because they were jealous of me, and thought I was showing off on purpose. I think that I doesn’t matter how high or low you can sing or how good you can show off your voice and push it to max to make it sound it good. It matters if you actually care for singing. I ran down stairs and into the living room. I started to search through the mountain high pile of movies that we have. About 15 minutes later I finally found it. As the movie started to play I couldn’t help but slip into my own veil of thoughts. And by the end of the movie I was crying and singing along with the girl, she was singing her last song before she lost her voice par mentally. She ended up touching the lives of thousands across the globe. By the time I got my thoughts together it was almost dark, then I looked at the clock “Crap!!! I totally lost track of the time!” I ran for my life up the stairs into my bedroom to get changed. I quickly ran to my car after. As I looked into my car mirror I still had little red blotches around my eyes from me crying while watching the movie. I tried to stay at the normal speed limit but it was already getting late. I pulled into the entrance of the skating ring entrance afraid that Maria was going to mad at me for being late. I fast walked to the skating rink. I quickly put stuff away in one of the lockers and headed towards the ice rink. As I entered the ring I saw a large group of people near the snack bar. Then I heard someone say my name, it was Maria she was already out on the ice. By the look on her face she looked happy that I came. I was glad that she wasn’t mad at me for being late. I waved back to her and smiled as best as I could. But It was weird I couldn’t shake this feeling I felt like someone was watching me. Maybe it was just me?
