Salvador Dali was a famous surrealist who was known for his extremely "abnormal" work. He had a mustache which was his signature. He became so well known for it, that at one point in time, all someone had to do was draw his mustache and write his country (Spain) for an address to send him a letter! Dali believed that his mustache:

gotta be the alien one. the reason: hes wasnt a retard, so two and three are out. it was hyped to much for four and six to be true. this leaves one and five. one just sounds so much wierder tho, and he WAS an artist. so mebey aliens

I think it can communicate to aliens because if someone managed to post a letter using only a drawing of his moustache and the word 'Spain', he probably thought that it could communicate to aliens too. Although there might be the factor that people probably never heard of aliens in his time.
