I wrote this on a sudden inspiration so I hope you enjoy
Lovers of Heart
There sat a young maiden
perched on the chimney stones
she wept and she cried
Oh, all the day long
her heart was spread
on the ground
where only he could see
fading was its light
from a wound that won't heal
with drugs or machines
just tears and believing
But, how he wondered
did his true loves
heart begin breaking
With no one to see
Her mother nor father
could tell what was inside
so, there the man stood
watching her heart fall
and suddenly he knew
Oh, now he knew it all
It was he who had caused this
For heaven's knows why
she had told him she loved him
so long ago now
and all he could bring to his mouth
so parched with shock and excitement
was a simple "oh"
So now the young maiden
still weeping up high
fell from her place
with no light
left in her eyes
And suddenly he felt
the tremor of love
that burst from his heart
to pick up the peices
now barely aglow
and with strength and courage
he caught his young love
and without any words
any words at all
he restored her heart
and brought back
the light to her eyes
he then kissed her so softly
it felt like a dream
as she lay
with her tears still steining her face
she realized his feelings
and hung on so tight.
So there they stood
the two lovers of heart
and there they stayed
until night came and they saw
snow,
falling as if on cue
and that snow
it spoke to them that day
it said " two lovers, may your hearts be true.
Now go inside and get warm,
your friends await you."
I really like your poem! It's so sweet...^_^
Ahhh a narative poem I see. Not bad, although I'm not much of a love-type person hehe.
Oh just read it! And so what if it's kinda lovey-dovey!
