Random ranting about Music.

Well its 5:34am, I seriously have nothing better to do, plus I can't fall asleep.  I have no clue how my friends blog so much XD.

I'm always up around the same time everyday, so I decided to go on MSN, while watching the BLEACH movie and my friend IMs me.  Then we get into some weird convo about Patrick Wolf, which then reminds me of Gackt (of course), but I was watching some interview with Wolf that she sent and apparently he fell off stage, which also there's some clip of Gackt walking off the edge off the stage online, then that led to Morrissey from the Smiths falling off stage the same way Gackt did.  Well then the convo dramatically shifted to foreign artist and their unique musical style versus the mainstream American where there is hardly variation.  This is why I respect foreign music in that respect, but then further on the artist seeks to also sign a deal which in turn would change a style to the norm.  I know some Asian artists are trying to do this, but while wanting them to succeed you know that somehow the style will change, which often leads to the downfall of good musicians.  I prefer artists to succeed with their own style rather than melding with mainstream and being mundane.  It’s ridiculous when labels want artists to do that.  Take Muse for instance as my friend was telling me, when they signed a deal they wanted the lead to change his style of singing because the band wouldn't get much popularity.  Of course Matt Bellamy said no to that, why change a perfectly unique music style, and now Muse sells out major venues even without having much airtime.  Matt has some amazing vocals, why the hell would someone want to screw with that.  It’s just sad how the industry forces artists to adapt to those conditions to succeed.

Well I guess this is the end of ranting, as whether this is just a voicing of opinion, don’t really want people to take this to seriously or saying I'm bashing all American  mainstream, there are also a lot of artists there in mainstream pushing there own style.  I just can stand it when people have standards to conform music, when actually it’s an art that should really be free to voice anything.  As far as I'm concerned music is the universal language, it allows people to feel the artist's emotions, even if the song may be in another language and this is how I would like music to be.  Every time I think of that it reminds me of a quote my friend told from Liam Gallagher, It's not about how much records you sell, it’s about the music, lol roughly along those lines.  I totally love dude, its a shame how musically challenged people are, its another issue of quantity of a quality.  To the people who look at quality and don't go on the BS of how many albums an artist sold to define success I salute you XD!
