New Friends
Chapter 1
As the day began to turn to night, Karenna walked outside to look at the sunset. But little did she know that it would be her last, for when the clock strikes 12, she would become one of the undead.
Karenna walks outside and sit on the porch swing. It is almost 7, and the sun is just going down.
Karenna’s mother then comes out and asks, “Karenna, I am going to bed. Do you want anything?”
Karenna shakes her head and takes the blanket from her mother.
“Don’t stay up to late.” She then walks into the house.
Karenna looks back at the sky. She starts to then get drowsy, and soon falls asleep.
It soon becomes midnight and Karenna awakes with an awful pain in her chest. She screams out, waking her mom and dad. They run outside and right to her.
“Karenna what is wrong?” Her dad asks.
Karenna is in to much pain to answer but just clutches her chest.
“Ricky I think she is having a heart attack!” Her mom yells out.
“She is 18 years old now. She is too young to be having a heart attack.” He feels her pulse. “We better call the ambulance, her pulse is getting weaker by the minute. “
Karenna then passes out. She starts to get weaker and weaker by the minute.
Then as her mother goes to call 911, her life stops. Her last breath is taken and she closes her eyes just as the clock stop chiming.
Her father notices her chest is no longer moving and yells for his wife.
She runs outside on to the porch in tears in her eyes and he says, “She’s gone.” He runs and holds her as she breaks down in tears.
A few days later at the funeral all her friends come, including the whole town.
As the funeral starts and people start to say stuff about her she begins to move.
The whole crowd goes quite as her hand rises and soon her whole body.
She opens her eyes and looks around with a hungry look in her eye. “What’s with all the surprised faces? Aren’t you glad to see me?” She then laughs out loud.
The priest walks up and says, “You are Alukah, one of the living dead.”
“I am a vampire, and I love it.” She then climbs down from the coffin.
Flacon stands up and walks up to her. “If you are a vampire then you are a blood drinker.”
She touches his cheek. “Yes, I am a blood drinker. I have been reborn into this life. I promised before those nasty people killed me that I would be reborn one day at midnight and look, I was right.” She laughs. “But don’t worry. I won’t kill you. I may have no beating heart but I do remember that I still love you.” She then walks away.
As she walks down the aisle everyone backs away from her. She laughs at how scared they are.
All of a sudden a huge gust of wind blows everything around and a tornado appears in the center of the room. As it clears a man is left standing there.
“I knew I felt a living dead’s power. Who are you?” The man asks.
“My name is Karenna.” She walks up to him.
“You are a vampire?” He walks down the stairs of the stage. “Yes, I can smell it. Black blood runs through your veins.” He smiles at her. Then he holds out his hand for her.
She takes it still staring at him. “What is your name?”
“I am Dracula. I am also a vampire.” He kisses her hand.
“I can Sense that you are an ancient.” She smiles at him. “I can sense such power.”
“My dear, you look oddly familiar. Why is that?”
“I lived over a thousand years ago. I was the first vampire to walk this earth. I was then killed in my sleep a slayer named Van Helsing. I have no clue how I never heard him coming. I swore that I would rise again on the stroke of midnight and I have.”
He hisses as she says the name Van Helsing. “He is a thorn in my side that Van Helsing. Don’t worry my sweet now that you are here we will kill him together.” He walks with her down the aisle.
“What about these people, won’t they tell about us?” She looks around.
“If they don’t want to wake up one morning and find one of their loved ones dead they wont say a word.” He then looks around at everyone with red eyes. “Now let’s go get you something to eat.” They disappear in a cloud of dust.
Chapter 2
“That was delicious.” She stands up licking her lips.
He walks up to her and licks her lips, licking the blood from them. “You will soon become my Queen and we will rule the world together.” He hugs her close.
She looks up at him and says, “We must make others, an army of vampires.” She walks over the body. “I had a child once, I wonder if she is still alive.” She walks out of the alley.
“I doubt it if she got caught by Van Helsing.” He walks over to her and pus his arm around her. “You do know that is very rare for a vampire to have a baby?”
She looks up at him and smiles. “I know that, that’s why they called me Mother of Vampires, because I could give birth to them.” They then disappear.
A few days later while walking around the castle Karenna observes that there are no servants but the castle is always so clean when she awakes at night.
“My servants come during the day.” He said when she asked him about it. “They know nothing about who they clean for, all they know is that they get paid a lot to do it.” He smiles at her.
“Oh, well that’s good, because I ate all my servants.” She laughs at the memory.
“You laugh, why?” He smiles at her.
“I remember when I got hungry I use to go after the servants. One day I wake up and all of them are dead. I had to go out and hire a whole new bunch of servants. There was no one to clean the castle. I learned never to eat another servant again.”
“Well I think it is a good thing they only come in the day.” He laughs at her.
“Well the thing is can go out in the daylight. I have powers that others will never have. I can withstand sunlight, crosses, and fire. The only thing that can hurt me is stakes.” She walks toward the window. “I never thought that I would come back. I kind of feel bad for that girl; I mean her life ended just like that. She didn’t even get to say goodbye to her parents. She just died.” Walks out of the room
All of a sudden a short, disfigured man walks in. “You look upset master. What is wrong?”
He looks at the one named Kreecher and the turns toward the window. “That Karenna, she is very interesting. How could a vampire like herself have so much power? I have been living for a very long time and I don’t even have that much power. How does someone get that much?” He turns back toward him.
Kreecher then wheezes a reply. “You think there is more to her than what she has said.”
“Yes, a lot more. I attend to find out too.” He walks off.
Meanwhile in her new bedroom Karenna begins to pace back and forth. She had heard the comment that Dracula had made and it had made her very upset.
All of a sudden she starts to feel some ones pain and she realizes who it is. “Falcon!” She then jumps out her window and fly’s into the night toward her village.
At the village Falcon is grieving for his now dead girlfriend. He came up with the conclusion that what happened at the funeral was an illusion or dream. He was just so upset that he is now starting to imagine things.
He sits on his bed where they once use to spend their nights and cries. He is to upset that he can’t even look at her picture. He then hears a noise at his window and stands up. “Hello?” He sees a figure and walks slowly over to it. He then opens the window.
Karenna fly’s in and lands sitting on his bed. “Hello my sweet.” She smiles at him. “I felt your pain and am here to comfort you.”
“Karenna? No I am dreaming again. You died.” He falls into his chair.
“You’re not dreaming my love. I am back. Well actually to tell you the truth, I am not the girl you know. I am a resurrected vampire from the beginning of time.” She stands up and walks toward him. “I am here to make you one like me.”
Chapter 3
“What do you mean turn me into one of you?” He backs away form her.
“I am here to turn you into a vampire. Don’t you want to be one?” She moves closer.
“I don’t want to be dead. I would like you to leave now.” He point toward the window.
She smiles at him then says, “How would you like it if I brought back your girlfriend?”
“You mean you can bring her back?” He steps closer to her.
Yes but it will cost you. For me to bring her back I have to leave this world and my soul goes straight to hell.” She glares at him.
“What kind of payment are you expecting?” His face goes white.
“I want you to kill Dracula. He is going to try and destroy me now because he found out how powerful I am considered to him. I want him gone. Plus with me gone your girlfriend will have all my powers.”
“You mean she will still be a vampire?”
“Actually no she won’t. She will be a living person with vampire abilities. She may crave blood once in a while but I doubt it will be anything drastic.” She starts to snoop through his stuff.
“How am I supposed to kill a vampire like him? I’ve heard stories about the vampire Dracula. He is supposed to be very ancient. He must be very powerful.”
“I will send someone and you will train with him. He has killed millions of vampires and will help you kill this one.”
“How do you know he will help me?”
“Because, he has been looking for Dracula for a very long time.” She then flies out the window and in to the night.
He runs to the window and watches as she jumps from building to building.
The next day while walking down the street he hears a voice in his head telling him to go into the alley. He then turns and walks down it.
“So you decided to help me.” She remains sitting on the wall.
“How do you know that?” He walks slowly up to her.
“Do not act scared. If I wanted to harm you I would have done it the other night. I read your mind.” She jumps down.
“So now that you know my decision what do we do?”
“Well we need to prepare. He has found out from one of his spies that we are trying to kill him. I am going to send you to a vampire slayer. His name is Van Helsing.
He will train you.” She pulls out a piece of paper. “I will now bring back your girlfriend.”
He walks up and hugs her. “Thank you so much. You are willing to give up your life for her just to see him destroyed.” He backs away.
“Yeah, aren’t I sweet?” She turns tears in her eyes.
“Are you crying?” He takes her hand and turns her around making her face him. “You are. You don’t want to leave do you?”
“No. I love being back. I wish there was some way I could stay.” She wipes her tears away.
“I am so sorry.” He pats her back.
She then pushes him away. “Don’t worry about me. You need to worry about how you are going to get to Transylvania.” She walks a good distance away and then raises her hands in the air. “Find the soul that has been lost, return it to the place it belongs, take this soul that doesn’t belong and take it to the place where it will stay eternity.” She starts to glow.
He backs away as the ground begins to split. “What’s happening?”
“Stay back or you will be dragged down too.” Hands reach our and go to grab her but then a light shines and it backs away back into the darkness. “What is going on?”
A woman descends from the sky and lands in front of Falcon. “I am here to speak with the one called Karenna.”
Karenna walks up and bows. “You are one of the angels from heaven. Why do you want to talk to a creature like me?”
She smiles. “We heard your cries and why you are willing to give up life on this planet to bring back the other one. We have made up a decision and have decided to make you her guardian.”
She looks up. “You mean like those goddesses who protect the gifted?”
She nods her head.
“Oh thank you so much.” She runs and hugs her.
“Now it is time to bring her back.” She puts her hand on her head and starts to chant something.
Chapter 4
As the sun began to set and Falcon tried to wake Karenna a bunch of gang members turned down the alley. “Look who we got here one of them said” He looked down suspiciously at Falcon.
“Please leave us alone. Karenna please wake up.” He shakes her.
“What kind of psycho are you? What did you do; rape her or kill her?”
“I didn’t do anything to her. Now please leave me alone.”
They walk closer to them. “Then why is she unconscious?”
“She just passed out.” He starts to get scared.
All of a sudden Karenna moans and her eyes fly open.
“Karenna, are you all right?”
“Yeah, but I have a killer headache.” She notices the gang members. “Who are these people?”
“We saw you laying here with him shaking you. We didn’t want him to get all the fun.” He smiles down at her.
“I thought you were trying to help her.” Falcon pulls Karenna to her feet.
“Nope, you see we don’t believe in hitting a woman, now having sex with her when we want it is another story.” He then reaches for Karenna.
She then starts to get a funny feeling and looks up to see someone hovering over her.
The gang members see a smoky figure emerge from her and back away. “Maybe we should get out of here,” one of them says.
Falcon notices who it is, and smiles.
Karenna screams and then falls backward but her guardian catches her. “What is it?” She backs away from it.
“This is your new guardian angel. She is the one who took over your body when you died. You are her reincarnation.”
“You’re the reason I died? What is your name?” She then hears a voice in her head. “I can not speak out loud only in your mind. My name is Cleopatra.”
“Do you mean as the Queen of Egypt?” She moves a little closer.
Cleo then nods at her.
“This is so cool. That explains why I am interested in Ancient Egypt. I love the tombs and the clothes you use to wear back then.” She jumps up and down. “Can you tell me some stories about your life?”
She nods then says in her mind, “I will tell you everything in due time, but for now you have to get rid of these guys for they know your secret.” She looks at the gangsters.
“But how am I supposed to get rid of them? I am just a girl.”
“You aren’t anymore. You have the powers of a vampire. When Cleo left she left her powers with you. You are alive but have all the powers of a vampire.” Falcon walks up behind her.
“You guys are crazy.” The gangster then runs off.
“Don’t let them get away Karenna!” Cleo screams in her head.
All of a sudden she gets a powerful thirst and launches at them, baring her teeth.
“She is going to bite them. I thought you said she wouldn’t be a vampire!” He spins around.
Cleo starts to make hand gestures in the air but he doesn’t know what she is trying to say.
“I can’t understand you!”
Karenna then launches at the guys and lands on top of them. “I can smell the blood pulsing through your veins. I can’t wait to taste it.” She licks her lips. She then hears a voice in her head. “You have to fight the urge Karenna, if you don’t you will become a vampire!”
“Then I guess I will become a vampire.” She sinks her teeth into the one gang member.
The gang member then screams out in pain and tries to tear her off of him.
Cleo goes crazy and tries to pull her off, but she is too powerful.
Falcon runs up and hits her hard in the face. “You must stop this at once before you kill him.” He backs away when he sees the look in her eyes.
All of a sudden a figure appears from the shadows and grabs her.
Cleo flies at it and starts blasting energy balls at it.
“My little Cleopatra, is that any way to treat a former lover?” He laughs. “You were stupid to think I didn’t know about your little plan. You think you can still beat me. Think again.”
“She has more power than you!” Falcon screams.
“Not anymore. I am taking the girl.”
“You think you can just show up and expect me to come with you? I don’t think so.” She pulls away from him.
“Come with me and I will give you all the blood you want. You were descend to become a vampire, but these weaklings are trying to stop you. Come with me Karenna, and I promise you will never feel lonely again.” He holds out his hand.
She takes it hesitantly. “How did you know about me feeling lonely when I was alive?”
“I have been following you since you were born. I knew that you would rise up and become the greatest vampire alive. But what I didn’t know is that when you two split up you would become even more powerful then she ever was. You have chosen to take the way of the vampire instead of the ways of the slayer. You will join me and become my Queen.” He kisses her hand.
“One question, how did you know that when I was born I would become a vampire?”
“It’s quite a story actually. I was lying in my coffin and I hear this voice in my head. It keeps telling me to go to the hospital. So I go. When I arrived I found my way to the delivery area. There you were laying in one of those beds and I knew when you stared at me that you were the one. You are the chosen one. Your eyes were blood red and you were smiling.” He touches her face.
“Me, the chosen one, I like it.” She stares at Falcon.
“Please Karenna; you know that this isn’t you. The Karenna I know would never kill anyone.” Falcon pleads.
“Well I am not the Karenna you knew. I am powered by blood. The taste is like no other.” She laughs at them.
Chapter 5
Falcon walks up to her. “Don’t let him get in your mind, Karenna. Cleo didn’t risk being alive again for you to become a vampire.” He takes her hand. “I love you so much Karenna. Come back to me.”
“You didn’t love her at the funeral though. You were scared of her.”
She grabs her head. “I am getting a headache let us go.” She disappears.
“It looks like your plan failed Cleopatra.” He laughs then disappears.
“I am sorry Cleo. I guess the blood was too powerful. Maybe she was descend to become a vampire.” He slumps on to the ground.
Cleo flies up and shakes her head.
“I am sorry but I can’t understand you. Hear.” He digs out a pen and paper and hands it to her. “Write it down.”
She writes it down then hands it back to him.
“You still want me to go find Van Helsing?” He looks up at her. “We have no chance of winning still. Now that he has Karenna, he is too powerful.”
She then knocks him in the head.
“Fine! I will go. But you are coming with me.” He grabs her hand but she jerks it away really fast. “What’s wrong?”
She shows him her hand.
“How did you burn yourself?”
She points to him.
I never burned you. It must have happened when you were torn out of Karenna’s body.”
She then scribbles down another note.
“What? You can’t touch humans or you could die? That is stupid. But I wish you told me sooner. I am sorry.” He smiles at her.
She nods then lands and transforms into a human.
“Ok, if anyone asks you are my mute cousin from out a town and I am taking you on a trip.” She nods in agreement.
As they make their way on the train they hear bits and pieces of others conversations. “Yeah, they said there has been a massive beheading in London. Body’s everywhere, but no heads. Plus they had a piece of wood through their chest and garlic in their mouth. People are sure crazy these days.”
“Well at least we know where we are going.” Falcon says.
Cleo looks out the window.
Falcon then notices she is crying. “I know that you can’t talk and tell me what is wrong, but I can still feel your pain. You miss her. You weren’t very close to her, but you still miss her.”
Cleo looks at him and smiles.
Falcon hands her a piece of candy and says,” Don’t worry, we will get her back.”
A few days later as they board another train they start to listen to the news and conversations around them.
“Do you hear all those people? They keep talking about the family members they have lost.” Falcon closes his compartment door. “These this Van Helsing must be a very good vampire killer.” He sits down.
Cleo nods her head in agreement.
“I hope this train ride goes quickly. I really want to get this over with.”
Cleo looks at him then out the window. She then jerks back and starts shaking him.
“What is it?” He leans over her and looks out the window. “Oh no, please tell me those aren’t vampires coming at us full speed?” He backs away. “We have to get these people off the train.”
She starts to shake her head then grabs his hand and runs out the compartment and down the hall.
“Let go you are hurting yourself.” HE pulls away from her. “Were we going?”
She points toward the door.
“We can’t leave all these people.” He goes to walk back.
“We must!” She jumps back clutching her throat.
He moves closer to her. “You talked, but how?” He takes her hand. “And your hands aren’t even burnt from when you touched me.”
“But how is that possible?”
He looks at her then at the floor. “Is it possible that when you are in this transformation you become human?”
“I don’t know. It feels good to talk though.” She hears screams. “ We have to go. The vampires aren’t here for these people they are here for you. They want to stop you from reaching Van Helsing.” She takes his hand and runs to the back of the train. “We need to find a way off of here.” She then opens a door. “I guess we are going to jump.”
“I am not jumping off of a moving train.” He looks at her then turns. “There must be another way off of here.” HE then hears banging on the door. “They found us.” He looks out at the moving ground. He then takes her hand.
“On the count of three. One, two, three!” They jump off the train, hit the ground and then start rolling down the hill.
They keep rolling then all of a sudden a cliff appears and Cleo rolls right off of it but Falcon grabs her then uses his free hand to grab on to a tree. “Are you ok?”
“I don’t know. My side is really hurting.”
“You must of cracked a rib. Hold on, I will try and pull us up.”
Chapter 6
“Falcon, please hurry, I am slipping.” She tries to get a better grip but cant.
He pulls her up. “Get on my back and hold on tight.”
She climbs up on his back.
All of a sudden a hand reaches down and grabs a hold of him. He looks up really fast.
“Don’t be afraid. I am going to pull you up.” He starts to pull them up.
When they are back on the cliff they thank him for saving their life.”
“My name is Van Helsing.” He hands them a drink. “Drink up. It will give you strength and heal your wounds.” He then walks away.
“Wait!” Falcon stands up and runs toward him. “Are you the Van Helsing, the vampire slayer?”
“Yes, who are you?”
“My name is Falcon. My friend use to be a vampire, she was reincarnated into my girlfriend. When she turned 18 she became her. Cleo here became her guardian so Karenna could become human again. The thing is that Dracula has gotten into her mind and she has become a vampire once again.”
“Are you telling me this girl is the legendary Cleopatra?” He moves toward Cleo.
“Well she was she is now a guardian who is now turning human.”
“But how is that possible? I mean guardians don’t talk and can’t have human contact unless it’s with their charge.”
“We think since she has been is this form for a long time it is starting to make her more human. She can talk and everything.”
“It is strange. Anyway what do you want with me?” He turns away from her.
“We need your help. I need you to train me to become a vampire slayer so I can kill Dracula and get Karenna back.”
“No,” walks away from them.
“Why not, you do know that with Karenna’s power Dracula could take over anything. He only wants her because she is so powerful.”
“Yes, she has Cleo’s powers. I have defeated your daughter but almost died trying. She was very powerful. It was a good thing I did it though. She was so powerful that it was killing her. I made it less painful.”
“My daughter, you mean she is dead now?” She moves closer.
“Yes, I am sorry too. But she was draining the world dry. I had to do something.”
She was the only child I ever had.” She sits at the edge of the cliff.
“Will you help train me?”
“Yes, but only because I have been trying to kill Dracula for a very long time and it seems Cleo here will be of some use to me.”
“What can I do?”
“You said that the only thing Dracula wants is Karenna’s power. Well you had those powers once. You can help me to learn what those powers are.”
“But the thing is, is that I have so many powers that I don’t even know what they are.” She stands up.
“What do you mean?”
“Her powers are unlimited. She has so many that she hasn’t used them all yet. Karenna might be using powers that Cleo hasn’t even learned yet.”
“This is going to suck. No wonder he wants her powers.” He starts to paste back and forth. “Training you is going to be seriously hard. You don’t look like the working type either.” He starts to circle around Falcon.
“I will do anything for Karenna.”
“Lets go. We have a long journey ahead of us. My place is up on the highest mountain.”
They start to walk along the cliff and through the forest toward his car.
“SO tell me how you two almost went flying off the cliff.” He opens the door for Cleo.
“An army of vampires came after me. We just made it off the train. Those poor people, I wonder if they killed all of them.”
“We had to jump off the train while it was still moving” Cleo hops into the car and slams the door closed.
“Well I don’t think they killed any of them. Younger vampires are bounded by the devil. They can’t kill for fun only when they are hungry.”
“I don’t understand” Falcon looks at him.
“You see vampires that are newly brought over are bound by a code that they can’t kill for fun. They can only kill if they are hungry.” Cleo tells him.
“You mean like a contract.”
Van Helsing then enters the car. “Yes, that’s how they are disciplined. Then when they are released from their contract they are so use to it they never kill for fun.” He starts up the car.
“SO how long will it take to get to your house?”
“About 4 days in the car, a day climbing the mountain, maybe two.” He pulls away from the cliff.
“That’s a long time.” Cleo nuzzles up to the back of the seat. “I am so tired”
Chapter 7
A few days later they reach the mountain base. “We are here.”
Cleo wakes up and stretches. “About time, my legs are starting to feel very strange.”
“They are falling asleep, because they have poor circulation of blood in to them. When we get out of the car walk around a little, that will make you feel better.”
She does what she is told. “Hey it is working.” She runs into the house.
“Wait!” He then hears a scream.
Falcon chases after her. “Cleo!” He bursts through the door.
He stops as he sees a huge three headed dog who is staring right at Cleo. “Cleo!”
“Please help me.” She steps slowly away from the dog.
“Sadey you get back.” Van Helsing steps between her and the dog. “She is a guess.”
The dog backs away and goes to lie on a huge pillow in a corner of the room.
“Sorry about that. She is my guard dog. She has a taste for vampires so no vampire will come in here. They are too scared too.” HE walks into the kitchen. “Would you like anything to eat or drink?”
They both say no then Cleo looks at Falcon. “That is some dog to keep in a house like this.”
“Poor thing, it must never get out. I mean people don’t usually see a three headed dog.”
Van Helsing then walks back into the room carrying a tray of different foods. “Just in case.”
“So, where did you find this dog?”
“I once had to go down in to the pits of hell and I found her there. The vampires were torturing her. I couldn’t leave her there, so I took her with me.” HE throws three steaks to the dog.
“She is beautiful, I mean once you get past he whole three heads.” Cleo goes closer to it. “She won’t attack me will she?”
“Actually I don’t know. You once use to be a vampire.” He walks up next to her.
“Cleo, be careful.” Falcon stands up.
“Nice girl, easy girl.” She walks up and puts her hand out for the dog to sniff.
The dog looks at her then sniffs her hand.
“She isn’t so scary once you get closer to her.” All of a sudden she screams out in pain as the dog bites down right through her arm.

“I am a vampire, and I love it.” She then climbs down from the coffin.
Flacon stands up and walks up to her. “If you are a vampire then you are a blood drinker.”
She touches his cheek. “Yes, I am a blood drinker. I have been reborn into this life. I promised before those nasty people killed me that I would be reborn one day at midnight and look, I was right.” She laughs. “But don’t worry. I won’t kill you. I may have no beating heart but I do remember that I still love you.” She then walks away.
As she walks down the aisle everyone backs away from her. She laughs at how scared they are.
All of a sudden a huge gust of wind blows everything around and a tornado appears in the center of the room. As it clears a man is left standing there.
“I knew I felt a living dead’s power. Who are you?” The man asks.
“My name is Karenna.” She walks up to him.
“You are a vampire?” He walks down the stairs of the stage. “Yes, I can smell it. Black blood runs through your veins.” He smiles at her. Then he holds out his hand for her.
She takes it still staring at him. “What is your name?”
“I am Dracula. I am also a vampire.” He kisses her hand.
“I can Sense that you are an ancient.” She smiles at him. “I can sense such power.”
“My dear, you look oddly familiar. Why is that?”
“I lived over a thousand years ago. I was the first vampire to walk this earth. I was then killed in my sleep a slayer named Van Helsing. I have no clue how I never heard him coming. I swore that I would rise again on the stroke of midnight and I have.”
He hisses as she says the name Van Helsing. “He is a thorn in my side that Van Helsing. Don’t worry my sweet now that you are here we will kill him together.” He walks with her down the aisle.
“What about these people, won’t they tell about us?” She looks around.
“If they don’t want to wake up one morning and find one of their loved ones dead they wont say a word.” He then looks around at everyone with red eyes. “Now let’s go get you something to eat.” They disappear in a cloud of dust.
Chapter 2
“That was delicious.” She stands up licking her lips.
He walks up to her and licks her lips, licking the blood from them. “You will soon become my Queen and we will rule the world together.” He hugs her close.
She looks up at him and says, “We must make others, an army of vampires.” She walks over the body. “I had a child once, I wonder if she is still alive.” She walks out of the alley.
“I doubt it if she got caught by Van Helsing.” He walks over to her and pus his arm around her. “You do know that is very rare for a vampire to have a baby?”
She looks up at him and smiles. “I know that, that’s why they called me Mother of Vampires, because I could give birth to them.” They then disappear.
A few days later while walking around the castle Karenna observes that there are no servants but the castle is always so clean when she awakes at night.
“My servants come during the day.” He said when she asked him about it. “They know nothing about who they clean for, all they know is that they get paid a lot to do it.” He smiles at her.
“Oh, well that’s good, because I ate all my servants.” She laughs at the memory.
“You laugh, why?” He smiles at her.
“I remember when I got hungry I use to go after the servants. One day I wake up and all of them are dead. I had to go out and hire a whole new bunch of servants. There was no one to clean the castle. I learned never to eat another servant again.”
“Well I think it is a good thing they only come in the day.” He laughs at her.
“Well the thing is can go out in the daylight. I have powers that others will never have. I can withstand sunlight, crosses, and fire. The only thing that can hurt me is stakes.” She walks toward the window. “I never thought that I would come back. I kind of feel bad for that girl; I mean her life ended just like that. She didn’t even get to say goodbye to her parents. She just died.” Walks out of the room
All of a sudden a short, disfigured man walks in. “You look upset master. What is wrong?”
He looks at the one named Kreecher and the turns toward the window. “That Karenna, she is very interesting. How could a vampire like herself have so much power? I have been living for a very long time and I don’t even have that much power. How does someone get that much?” He turns back toward him.
Kreecher then wheezes a reply. “You think there is more to her than what she has said.”
“Yes, a lot more. I attend to find out too.” He walks off.
Meanwhile in her new bedroom Karenna begins to pace back and forth. She had heard the comment that Dracula had made and it had made her very upset.
All of a sudden she starts to feel some ones pain and she realizes who it is. “Falcon!” She then jumps out her window and fly’s into the night toward her village.
At the village Falcon is grieving for his now dead girlfriend. He came up with the conclusion that what happened at the funeral was an illusion or dream. He was just so upset that he is now starting to imagine things.
He sits on his bed where they once use to spend their nights and cries. He is to upset that he can’t even look at her picture. He then hears a noise at his window and stands up. “Hello?” He sees a figure and walks slowly over to it. He then opens the window.
Karenna fly’s in and lands sitting on his bed. “Hello my sweet.” She smiles at him. “I felt your pain and am here to comfort you.”
“Karenna? No I am dreaming again. You died.” He falls into his chair.
“You’re not dreaming my love. I am back. Well actually to tell you the truth, I am not the girl you know. I am a resurrected vampire from the beginning of time.” She stands up and walks toward him. “I am here to make you one like me.”
Chapter 3
“What do you mean turn me into one of you?” He backs away form her.
“I am here to turn you into a vampire. Don’t you want to be one?” She moves closer.
“I don’t want to be dead. I would like you to leave now.” He point toward the window.
She smiles at him then says, “How would you like it if I brought back your girlfriend?”
“You mean you can bring her back?” He steps closer to her.
Yes but it will cost you. For me to bring her back I have to leave this world and my soul goes straight to hell.” She glares at him.
“What kind of payment are you expecting?” His face goes white.
“I want you to kill Dracula. He is going to try and destroy me now because he found out how powerful I am considered to him. I want him gone. Plus with me gone your girlfriend will have all my powers.”
“You mean she will still be a vampire?”
“Actually no she won’t. She will be a living person with vampire abilities. She may crave blood once in a while but I doubt it will be anything drastic.” She starts to snoop through his stuff.
“How am I supposed to kill a vampire like him? I’ve heard stories about the vampire Dracula. He is supposed to be very ancient. He must be very powerful.”
“I will send someone and you will train with him. He has killed millions of vampires and will help you kill this one.”
“How do you know he will help me?”
“Because, he has been looking for Dracula for a very long time.” She then flies out the window and in to the night.
He runs to the window and watches as she jumps from building to building.
The next day while walking down the street he hears a voice in his head telling him to go into the alley. He then turns and walks down it.
“So you decided to help me.” She remains sitting on the wall.
“How do you know that?” He walks slowly up to her.
“Do not act scared. If I wanted to harm you I would have done it the other night. I read your mind.” She jumps down.
“So now that you know my decision what do we do?”
“Well we need to prepare. He has found out from one of his spies that we are trying to kill him. I am going to send you to a vampire slayer. His name is Van Helsing.
He will train you.” She pulls out a piece of paper. “I will now bring back your girlfriend.”
He walks up and hugs her. “Thank you so much. You are willing to give up your life for her just to see him destroyed.” He backs away.
“Yeah, aren’t I sweet?” She turns tears in her eyes.
“Are you crying?” He takes her hand and turns her around making her face him. “You are. You don’t want to leave do you?”
“No. I love being back. I wish there was some way I could stay.” She wipes her tears away.
“I am so sorry.” He pats her back.
She then pushes him away. “Don’t worry about me. You need to worry about how you are going to get to Transylvania.” She walks a good distance away and then raises her hands in the air. “Find the soul that has been lost, return it to the place it belongs, take this soul that doesn’t belong and take it to the place where it will stay eternity.” She starts to glow.
He backs away as the ground begins to split. “What’s happening?”
“Stay back or you will be dragged down too.” Hands reach our and go to grab her but then a light shines and it backs away back into the darkness. “What is going on?”
A woman descends from the sky and lands in front of Falcon. “I am here to speak with the one called Karenna.”
Karenna walks up and bows. “You are one of the angels from heaven. Why do you want to talk to a creature like me?”
She smiles. “We heard your cries and why you are willing to give up life on this planet to bring back the other one. We have made up a decision and have decided to make you her guardian.”
She looks up. “You mean like those goddesses who protect the gifted?”
She nods her head.
“Oh thank you so much.” She runs and hugs her.
“Now it is time to bring her back.” She puts her hand on her head and starts to chant something.
Chapter 4
As the sun began to set and Falcon tried to wake Karenna a bunch of gang members turned down the alley. “Look who we got here one of them said” He looked down suspiciously at Falcon.
“Please leave us alone. Karenna please wake up.” He shakes her.
“What kind of psycho are you? What did you do; rape her or kill her?”
“I didn’t do anything to her. Now please leave me alone.”
They walk closer to them. “Then why is she unconscious?”
“She just passed out.” He starts to get scared.
All of a sudden Karenna moans and her eyes fly open.
“Karenna, are you all right?”
“Yeah, but I have a killer headache.” She notices the gang members. “Who are these people?”
“We saw you laying here with him shaking you. We didn’t want him to get all the fun.” He smiles down at her.
“I thought you were trying to help her.” Falcon pulls Karenna to her feet.
“Nope, you see we don’t believe in hitting a woman, now having sex with her when we want it is another story.” He then reaches for Karenna.
She then starts to get a funny feeling and looks up to see someone hovering over her.
The gang members see a smoky figure emerge from her and back away. “Maybe we should get out of here,” one of them says.
Falcon notices who it is, and smiles.
Karenna screams and then falls backward but her guardian catches her. “What is it?” She backs away from it.
“This is your new guardian angel. She is the one who took over your body when you died. You are her reincarnation.”
“You’re the reason I died? What is your name?” She then hears a voice in her head. “I can not speak out loud only in your mind. My name is Cleopatra.”
“Do you mean as the Queen of Egypt?” She moves a little closer.
Cleo then nods at her.
“This is so cool. That explains why I am interested in Ancient Egypt. I love the tombs and the clothes you use to wear back then.” She jumps up and down. “Can you tell me some stories about your life?”
She nods then says in her mind, “I will tell you everything in due time, but for now you have to get rid of these guys for they know your secret.” She looks at the gangsters.
“But how am I supposed to get rid of them? I am just a girl.”
“You aren’t anymore. You have the powers of a vampire. When Cleo left she left her powers with you. You are alive but have all the powers of a vampire.” Falcon walks up behind her.
“You guys are crazy.” The gangster then runs off.
“Don’t let them get away Karenna!” Cleo screams in her head.
All of a sudden she gets a powerful thirst and launches at them, baring her teeth.
“She is going to bite them. I thought you said she wouldn’t be a vampire!” He spins around.
Cleo starts to make hand gestures in the air but he doesn’t know what she is trying to say.
“I can’t understand you!”
Karenna then launches at the guys and lands on top of them. “I can smell the blood pulsing through your veins. I can’t wait to taste it.” She licks her lips. She then hears a voice in her head. “You have to fight the urge Karenna, if you don’t you will become a vampire!”
“Then I guess I will become a vampire.” She sinks her teeth into the one gang member.
The gang member then screams out in pain and tries to tear her off of him.
Cleo goes crazy and tries to pull her off, but she is too powerful.
Falcon runs up and hits her hard in the face. “You must stop this at once before you kill him.” He backs away when he sees the look in her eyes.
All of a sudden a figure appears from the shadows and grabs her.
Cleo flies at it and starts blasting energy balls at it.
“My little Cleopatra, is that any way to treat a former lover?” He laughs. “You were stupid to think I didn’t know about your little plan. You think you can still beat me. Think again.”
“She has more power than you!” Falcon screams.
“Not anymore. I am taking the girl.”
“You think you can just show up and expect me to come with you? I don’t think so.” She pulls away from him.
“Come with me and I will give you all the blood you want. You were descend to become a vampire, but these weaklings are trying to stop you. Come with me Karenna, and I promise you will never feel lonely again.” He holds out his hand.
She takes it hesitantly. “How did you know about me feeling lonely when I was alive?”
“I have been following you since you were born. I knew that you would rise up and become the greatest vampire alive. But what I didn’t know is that when you two split up you would become even more powerful then she ever was. You have chosen to take the way of the vampire instead of the ways of the slayer. You will join me and become my Queen.” He kisses her hand.
“One question, how did you know that when I was born I would become a vampire?”
“It’s quite a story actually. I was lying in my coffin and I hear this voice in my head. It keeps telling me to go to the hospital. So I go. When I arrived I found my way to the delivery area. There you were laying in one of those beds and I knew when you stared at me that you were the one. You are the chosen one. Your eyes were blood red and you were smiling.” He touches her face.
“Me, the chosen one, I like it.” She stares at Falcon.
“Please Karenna; you know that this isn’t you. The Karenna I know would never kill anyone.” Falcon pleads.
“Well I am not the Karenna you knew. I am powered by blood. The taste is like no other.” She laughs at them.
Chapter 5
Falcon walks up to her. “Don’t let him get in your mind, Karenna. Cleo didn’t risk being alive again for you to become a vampire.” He takes her hand. “I love you so much Karenna. Come back to me.”
“You didn’t love her at the funeral though. You were scared of her.”
She grabs her head. “I am getting a headache let us go.” She disappears.
“It looks like your plan failed Cleopatra.” He laughs then disappears.
“I am sorry Cleo. I guess the blood was too powerful. Maybe she was descend to become a vampire.” He slumps on to the ground.
Cleo flies up and shakes her head.
“I am sorry but I can’t understand you. Hear.” He digs out a pen and paper and hands it to her. “Write it down.”
She writes it down then hands it back to him.
“You still want me to go find Van Helsing?” He looks up at her. “We have no chance of winning still. Now that he has Karenna, he is too powerful.”
She then knocks him in the head.
“Fine! I will go. But you are coming with me.” He grabs her hand but she jerks it away really fast. “What’s wrong?”
She shows him her hand.
“How did you burn yourself?”
She points to him.
I never burned you. It must have happened when you were torn out of Karenna’s body.”
She then scribbles down another note.
“What? You can’t touch humans or you could die? That is stupid. But I wish you told me sooner. I am sorry.” He smiles at her.
She nods then lands and transforms into a human.
“Ok, if anyone asks you are my mute cousin from out a town and I am taking you on a trip.” She nods in agreement.
As they make their way on the train they hear bits and pieces of others conversations. “Yeah, they said there has been a massive beheading in London. Body’s everywhere, but no heads. Plus they had a piece of wood through their chest and garlic in their mouth. People are sure crazy these days.”
“Well at least we know where we are going.” Falcon says.
Cleo looks out the window.
Falcon then notices she is crying. “I know that you can’t talk and tell me what is wrong, but I can still feel your pain. You miss her. You weren’t very close to her, but you still miss her.”
Cleo looks at him and smiles.
Falcon hands her a piece of candy and says,” Don’t worry, we will get her back.”
A few days later as they board another train they start to listen to the news and conversations around them.
“Do you hear all those people? They keep talking about the family members they have lost.” Falcon closes his compartment door. “These this Van Helsing must be a very good vampire killer.” He sits down.
Cleo nods her head in agreement.
“I hope this train ride goes quickly. I really want to get this over with.”
Cleo looks at him then out the window. She then jerks back and starts shaking him.
“What is it?” He leans over her and looks out the window. “Oh no, please tell me those aren’t vampires coming at us full speed?” He backs away. “We have to get these people off the train.”
She starts to shake her head then grabs his hand and runs out the compartment and down the hall.
“Let go you are hurting yourself.” HE pulls away from her. “Were we going?”
She points toward the door.
“We can’t leave all these people.” He goes to walk back.
“We must!” She jumps back clutching her throat.
He moves closer to her. “You talked, but how?” He takes her hand. “And your hands aren’t even burnt from when you touched me.”
“But how is that possible?”
He looks at her then at the floor. “Is it possible that when you are in this transformation you become human?”
“I don’t know. It feels good to talk though.” She hears screams. “ We have to go. The vampires aren’t here for these people they are here for you. They want to stop you from reaching Van Helsing.” She takes his hand and runs to the back of the train. “We need to find a way off of here.” She then opens a door. “I guess we are going to jump.”
“I am not jumping off of a moving train.” He looks at her then turns. “There must be another way off of here.” HE then hears banging on the door. “They found us.” He looks out at the moving ground. He then takes her hand.
“On the count of three. One, two, three!” They jump off the train, hit the ground and then start rolling down the hill.
They keep rolling then all of a sudden a cliff appears and Cleo rolls right off of it but Falcon grabs her then uses his free hand to grab on to a tree. “Are you ok?”
“I don’t know. My side is really hurting.”
“You must of cracked a rib. Hold on, I will try and pull us up.”
Chapter 6
“Falcon, please hurry, I am slipping.” She tries to get a better grip but cant.
He pulls her up. “Get on my back and hold on tight.”
She climbs up on his back.
All of a sudden a hand reaches down and grabs a hold of him. He looks up really fast.
“Don’t be afraid. I am going to pull you up.” He starts to pull them up.
When they are back on the cliff they thank him for saving their life.”
“My name is Van Helsing.” He hands them a drink. “Drink up. It will give you strength and heal your wounds.” He then walks away.
“Wait!” Falcon stands up and runs toward him. “Are you the Van Helsing, the vampire slayer?”
“Yes, who are you?”
“My name is Falcon. My friend use to be a vampire, she was reincarnated into my girlfriend. When she turned 18 she became her. Cleo here became her guardian so Karenna could become human again. The thing is that Dracula has gotten into her mind and she has become a vampire once again.”
“Are you telling me this girl is the legendary Cleopatra?” He moves toward Cleo.
“Well she was she is now a guardian who is now turning human.”
“But how is that possible? I mean guardians don’t talk and can’t have human contact unless it’s with their charge.”
“We think since she has been is this form for a long time it is starting to make her more human. She can talk and everything.”
“It is strange. Anyway what do you want with me?” He turns away from her.
“We need your help. I need you to train me to become a vampire slayer so I can kill Dracula and get Karenna back.”
“No,” walks away from them.
“Why not, you do know that with Karenna’s power Dracula could take over anything. He only wants her because she is so powerful.”
“Yes, she has Cleo’s powers. I have defeated your daughter but almost died trying. She was very powerful. It was a good thing I did it though. She was so powerful that it was killing her. I made it less painful.”
“My daughter, you mean she is dead now?” She moves closer.
“Yes, I am sorry too. But she was draining the world dry. I had to do something.”
She was the only child I ever had.” She sits at the edge of the cliff.
“Will you help train me?”
“Yes, but only because I have been trying to kill Dracula for a very long time and it seems Cleo here will be of some use to me.”
“What can I do?”
“You said that the only thing Dracula wants is Karenna’s power. Well you had those powers once. You can help me to learn what those powers are.”
“But the thing is, is that I have so many powers that I don’t even know what they are.” She stands up.
“What do you mean?”
“Her powers are unlimited. She has so many that she hasn’t used them all yet. Karenna might be using powers that Cleo hasn’t even learned yet.”
“This is going to suck. No wonder he wants her powers.” He starts to paste back and forth. “Training you is going to be seriously hard. You don’t look like the working type either.” He starts to circle around Falcon.
“I will do anything for Karenna.”
“Lets go. We have a long journey ahead of us. My place is up on the highest mountain.”
They start to walk along the cliff and through the forest toward his car.
“SO tell me how you two almost went flying off the cliff.” He opens the door for Cleo.
“An army of vampires came after me. We just made it off the train. Those poor people, I wonder if they killed all of them.”
“We had to jump off the train while it was still moving” Cleo hops into the car and slams the door closed.
“Well I don’t think they killed any of them. Younger vampires are bounded by the devil. They can’t kill for fun only when they are hungry.”
“I don’t understand” Falcon looks at him.
“You see vampires that are newly brought over are bound by a code that they can’t kill for fun. They can only kill if they are hungry.” Cleo tells him.
“You mean like a contract.”
Van Helsing then enters the car. “Yes, that’s how they are disciplined. Then when they are released from their contract they are so use to it they never kill for fun.” He starts up the car.
“SO how long will it take to get to your house?”
“About 4 days in the car, a day climbing the mountain, maybe two.” He pulls away from the cliff.
“That’s a long time.” Cleo nuzzles up to the back of the seat. “I am so tired”
Chapter 7
A few days later they reach the mountain base. “We are here.”
Cleo wakes up and stretches. “About time, my legs are starting to feel very strange.”
“They are falling asleep, because they have poor circulation of blood in to them. When we get out of the car walk around a little, that will make you feel better.”
She does what she is told. “Hey it is working.” She runs into the house.
“Wait!” He then hears a scream.
Falcon chases after her. “Cleo!” He bursts through the door.
He stops as he sees a huge three headed dog who is staring right at Cleo. “Cleo!”
“Please help me.” She steps slowly away from the dog.
“Sadey you get back.” Van Helsing steps between her and the dog. “She is a guess.”
The dog backs away and goes to lie on a huge pillow in a corner of the room.
“Sorry about that. She is my guard dog. She has a taste for vampires so no vampire will come in here. They are too scared too.” HE walks into the kitchen. “Would you like anything to eat or drink?”
They both say no then Cleo looks at Falcon. “That is some dog to keep in a house like this.”
“Poor thing, it must never get out. I mean people don’t usually see a three headed dog.”
Van Helsing then walks back into the room carrying a tray of different foods. “Just in case.”
“So, where did you find this dog?”
“I once had to go down in to the pits of hell and I found her there. The vampires were torturing her. I couldn’t leave her there, so I took her with me.” HE throws three steaks to the dog.
“She is beautiful, I mean once you get past he whole three heads.” Cleo goes closer to it. “She won’t attack me will she?”
“Actually I don’t know. You once use to be a vampire.” He walks up next to her.
“Cleo, be careful.” Falcon stands up.
“Nice girl, easy girl.” She walks up and puts her hand out for the dog to sniff.
The dog looks at her then sniffs her hand.
“She isn’t so scary once you get closer to her.” All of a sudden she screams out in pain as the dog bites down right through her arm.
