i think the sonic games imply that you can be evil too much,sonic adventure 2 and shadow the hedgehog implied this,i mean u get to be bad,but you dont really get to "destroy the world or save it" because eventually you team up and save it from a giant monster,which is cool and all and shows friendship through desperacy but whos up for tearing down some buildings as shadow? or building a destructive machine as robotnik/eggman? obviosly therell be limits and goals but itd be a fun game to play,and i think that the next new generation sonic game should involve shadow becoming evil and unbeatable again because in the PS3 sonic the hedgehog we see shadow captured by mankind shown by mephiles,maybe his power takes over his goodness? and where did metal sonic go? he cant die!! so many bad guys,ok i love the blue hedgehog ok? im just after a harder game because ive completed all the ones ive played really quickly,give sonic a really difficult (yet beatable) long game and i will love it!!
perhaps robotnik will learn to manipulate the chaos emeralds to become a humungous robot monster himself? now that would be cool
