Dedication to the Guild of Hunters, good luck to you guys!
Fwwwwiiip! The sound of an arrow shot from its bow came out quick. It reached its target, a demon that was killing off more and more villagers every day.The demon was unusually large for its size, though it had the instinct of a 5-year-old demon. It was a reddish-brownish color with the tail of a scorpion. It was the job of the Guardian to protect the villagers from anything that could harm them. Demons, werewolves, orgres, vampired even. Those were the easy ones to kill, witht the exception of a few vampires and werewolves. But the hardest ones to kill are elves and the wee folk, or those called faries.
The Village Guardian stepped out from her hiding place. Her silver eyes glittered in the sun. ‘Now the demon is gone, I can quietly watch over the village without having to do anything.’ She thought. She put her remaining arrows in her quiver and but her bow on her back. Her blue hair danced in the wind. She made her way back to the village, a smile on her lips.
“The Guardian returns! The demon is slayed!” Shouts from adults came from alll over the inn room. Everyone was drinking and laughing. The villagers were now pleased that their loved one’s death had been avenged.
“Long live the Guardian! Long live Cerenia!”
Cerenia... that was her name. She quickly gave a small smile before returning to her room upstairs, When something like this would happen, her parent’s would throw a party at the inn.
“Midnight Dream...” Cerenia whispered. A whoosh sound followed after those two simple words. No one in the village knew she could do this, not even her parents. She had become a silvery blue hawk. She blinked a couple of times to get her eyes adjusted to the darkness. She flapped her wings a few times too. Then she was out of there. She flew out of the window. Lucky for her, her mom forgot to close it. If she didn’t, she would have gone through a hole in the roof that her father made by forgetting to fix it. It got so large no one ever tried to fix it. That was usually her way in the room when she returned.
She beat her wings to make she she didn’t land. The winds helped her by giving her lift. She stopped flapping her wings and just soared into the sky. People who saw her never took a shot at her, as if she was a beacon of safety. Even if the did, she could fly away quickly. The moon in the sky was a cresent shape, no larger than a tip of a fingernail. It was the time in the month it started to wane. Cerenia flew to the highest tree she could find and sat in its branches. Her body felt small and light, her wings were used to her constant flapping. She felt happy being alone, all her worries melting away, her Guardian duites and the constant worry of being married.
Her thoughts driftes away when something landed on the branch beside her. She turned her head around in alarm, her wings ready to take flight. Nothing but the wind blowing over the branch. She folded her wings back down to her body. The fear of something being there frightened her since she was smaller than usual. She closed her eyes for the briefest of moments and took flight again.
She soared down familair streets and shops that all were part of her childhood. Cerenia could have flown down this place with her eyes closed. She didn’t though, since hunters still liked the idea of silver feathers lining their hats. She made it back to the Phoenix Inn, the name of her family's inn, and flew up the wall. She had to check if there was an easier way into the room.
The window was closed. So, she flew up to the roof and flew throgh the hole into the room. She flapped her wings a few times to make sure she had a safe landing, and then landed on the wooden floor. In her mind, she repeated Midnight Dream, and turned back to her human self. Her body returned to its heavy, human self, along with her bow and quiver. Every thing was back to normal. She slipped out of her outer garmets, put the bow and quiver standing against her bed post, and changed into her nightime garmets. She walked back to her bed, slipped under the covers, and began to think of what to do tomorrow, and quickly fell asleep.
Meet Cerenia- a 13 year old girl. She's an archer, and the guardian of an entire village. Her two main worries-protecting the villagers and getting married. Married?!? At 13?!? Poor thing. First pic is her, edited as you can tell. Second is how she looks as an hawks, only the black is kinda bluish. Last is her bow. (Drawn by somebody else....)
