Hajime and Miyuki participate in a tour of an expensive resort hoping to win an exclusive membership to the club. However, the fun and games come to an end when the participants are killed off one-by-one. The killer is believed to be Jason (from Friday the 13th) but Hajime soon discovers that all of the victims had something in common and he follows the clues in a dash to discover the killer.

Hajime Kindaichi
Although this 17-year-old high school junior has an IQ of 180, Hajime's slacker attitude has earned him a reputation as poor student and something of a troublemaker. But he's actually a brilliant amateur detective, who uses his uncanny powers of observation and deduction to solve even the most unusual of cases. Hajime is the grandson of Kousuke Kindaichi, a celebrated detective in his own right.

Miyuki Nanase
Also a 17-year-old high school junior. She has been friends with Hajime since childhood. Unlike Hajime, she is a popular, straight-A student. And, unbeknownst to her, she is also Hajime's love interest.

Isamu Kenmochi
A police inspector who is an occasional partner of Hajime.

Kengo Akechi
An extremely smart police superintendent who enjoys a competitive friendship with Kindaichi.
