LOVE Mink! I was hooked on it for a while. Megumi Tachikawa also wrote Saint Tail & Dream Saga. I have Dream Saga also; it's not bad, but not as good as Mink. Saint Tail looks really good. I have been trying to get it for years. Anyway...GO MINK!!! =D

This was my second manga and it is so cute! The art is beautiful and very girly. It's sometimes hard to understand what's going on, but a good manga nonetheless! It's a shame it's out of print. ~ A-Chan

      OUT OF PRINT

When shopping for their favorite star's new CD, Mink and her friends accidentally get a hold of Wanna-Be, a computer program from the future that allows a user to become the person he or she always wanted to be. Thinking that it will just make a computer version of herself, Mink's friends attempt to create a cyber idol of her. To their surprise, though, Mink actually becomes a star, and everyone sees her on live television. But, using software from the future is a serious crime. The girls decide never to use it again, but when one of the friend's brothers tells them that his company will be crushed unless he finds the mysterious girl whom everyone instantly fell in love with, Mink must make a decision. One of Mink's friends programs a new function into the software, and soon Mink is able to leave a copy of her schoolgirl self in the classroom while she pursues her dreams of stardom as Cyber Idol Mink.

Mink
A girl who dreams of becoming a star. She finds software from the future and uses it to program an 'idol' version of herself ... but it's illegal! Loves Motoharu.

Motoharu
A boy who loves Mink, and who works for a music company (talent agency) with his father. His father is sorta clueless, so he's running things solo, and he needs to find the next big star to keep the company afloat. Mink's manager.

Azumi
A girl who is already a star. She is Mink's rival and doesn't like her because Mink takes attention away from her.

Illiya
A boy who loves Mink. He heard Mink sing and wants to produce her (he's already ultra-famous).

Megumi Tachikawa
Megumi Tachikawa's most famous work is Saint Tail. It was published in Kodansha's Nakayoshi from 1995 to 1997 in seven volumes. It also spawned a television series that aired from 1995 to 1997 in 43 episodes and is currently in release in the US by TOKYOPOP Inc. Tachikawa made her debut in 1992 with Tiara of the 16-Year-Old in Nakayoshi Deluxe.

Mink - published in Japan as Cyber Idol Mink - began its run in Nakayoshi magazine in 1999.
