On top of giving them room and board, Kakei is also giving jobs to Kudo and Himura to make some money on the side. During one of Tokyo's matsuri (festival), Kakei sends Kudo and Himura on a job to recover an old magical vase in one of the nearby shrines. It's not as easy as just walking in and out. The vase has the power to twist the spatial environment to mislead anyone looking for it.

Kazahaya Kudo
When Kazahayas's life is saved by Rikuo, he ends up being taken in by his rescuer's boss at the Green Drug pharmacy. Now, much to his dismay, Kazahaya lives out of the pharmacy and rooms with Rikuo (any time with that big lug is too much time). Kazahaya also has a 'gift' (or a curse, depending on how you look at it) that causes him to have visions ... a skill that is most useful in completing the special side jobs he and Rikuo do.

Rikuo Himura
Big and gruff, like a bear, seventeen-year-old Rikuo works at the Green Drug pharmacy. He has the telekinetic ability to 'break' things.

What is 'CLAMP'?

CLAMP is the four-woman manga studio that creates the world's most popular manga. For the past 15 years they have worked non-stop, creating everything from the adorable shojo (girls comic) hit Cardcaptor Sakura, to the dark and brooding Tokyo Babylon, to the sci-fi romantic comedy Chobits. Currently they are working on four series: Legal Drug, X, Tsubasa: Resevoir Chronicle and xxxHolic. The group also has a close relationship with anime studio Madhouse, which has adapted most of CLAMP's manga into equally successful anime.

2004 marks the team's 15th anniversary, and to celebrate they are working on a retrospective collection called CLAMP no Kiseki, available from TOKYOPOP in 2005.
