It's finally happened--Sae's true colors are exposed! Now Toji and Momo can live happily ever after... but is that really how the story ends? Momo's lost confidence in Toji and can't stop thinking about how nice Kiley was to her when she needed a friend. Will Toji fight to get Momo back for good, or will he let love slip through his fingers?
Momo
A total beach bunny, Momo is too stuck up and ditzy for friends, and she, like, will hook up with any guy ... or that's what everyone likes to say, anyway. Momo is actually a sweet, shy, and loyal girl who because of her tan complexion and blonde hair gets singled out by everybody. Girls are jealous, guys don't think she can be faithful, and so in spite of the fact that she's the prettiest girl in school, she still can't get a date. In fact, she thinks the one boy she likes - Toji - would never go out with her because he is only into girls with light skin. But she is trying to get past her looks and learn what really is important - the person inside.
Sae
With a friend like this, Momo doesn't need any enemies. Sae is the most popular girl in school, and the prettiest. Petite, fair-skinned, and beautiful, she's everything Momo wishes she could be physically. But on the inside, it's Sae that wants to be like Momo. She copies Momo's style and goes after the boys Momo likes and while she outwardly tries to console the frequently upset and frustrated Momo, she is secretly the greatest cause of Momo's troubles.
Toji
He is the object of Momo's affection, and also the biggest secret Momo wants to keep from Sae, because she knows that if Sae finds out - well - what Sae wants, Sae gets. And Sae wants everything Momo wants. Toji himself is rumored to only be attracted to light skinned girls so Momo is constantly trying to keep out of the sun and get as light as she can.
Kiley
He is the most popular guy in school and finds himself involved in the love-triangle between Momo, Toji, and Sae pretty unexpectedly. When Sae starts seeing that Momo likes Toji, Momo pretends that she is into Kiley - with some unexpected results - in order to draw Sae off the scent. What Momo never expected from the carefree bad-boy was that he might develop feelings for her.
