Set in the rich universe of Blizzard's online role-playing game World of Warcraft, the books of Warcraft: The Sunwell Trilogy re-create the world of Azeroth as you've never seen it before--in manga form!
The three-volume graphic novel series follows the adventures of Kalec, a blue dragon who has taken human form to investigate a mysterious power, and Anveena, a beautiful young maiden with an enchanting secret. What starts as a fight for survival turns into a quest to save the entire High Elven Kingdom from the forces of the Undead Scourge.
Written by New York Times best selling novelist Richard A. Knaak (Warcraft: War of the Ancients) and illustrated by Korean manga superstar Jae-Hwan Kim (King of Hell), Warcraft: The Sunwell Trilogy is a must-read manga for gamers and fantasy fans around the world.
Kalecgos
One of the few surviving Blue Dragons, Kalecgos was sent by his lord to find the Sunwell. Of all the various flights of dragons, the Blue Dragons are most in tune with magic. As such, Kalec has the powers of a sorcerer and the strength of a warrior. Kalec can assume a human form at will while retaining many of his powers. Though undoubtedly more powerful as a dragon, Kalec is a formidable fighter as a human, and he possesses the ability to magically create his own sword. Currently, Kalec is trapped in his human form by a magical collar placed on his neck by the malevolent Dar'Khan.
Anveena Teague
A kind and beautiful peasant girl from Tarren Mill who saved Kalec from bounty hunters. After she sheltered Kalec, Anveena's home was destroyed by the Undead Scourge, acting on behalf of Dar'Khan, a traitorous elf who seeks the Sunwell for his own evil ends. Though Anveena and Kalec escaped Dar'Khan, they are both unable to remove the collars Dar'Khan placed around their necks.
Tyrygosa
A female Blue Dragon who is Kalec's future mate. Tyri came to Kalec's rescue after Kalec was attacked by bounty hunters. Tyri believes that assuming a human form would be demeaning, so she transforms herself to resemble an elf when not in dragon form.
Jorad Mace
A human knight adept in the use of both sword and hammer, Jorad lost his lord to the Undead Scourge. Adrift and haunted by his loss, Jorad overheard Kalec, Anveena and Tyri when they searched Tarren Mill for Borel. Inspired by Anveena, Jorad helped defend Kalec and Anveena when the Scourge attacked Tarren Mill.

Warcraft: The Sunwell Trilogy - Ghostlands, released in March, 2007, is the stunning conclusion to the three-volume series. It's the Warcraft universe like you have never seen it before!
I've always loved playing the various versions of Warcraft because the story is so well crafted that it really makes me care about the characters and the world they inhabit. I jumped at the chance to work on this series, and it has been fantastic to see the books take form. Players will recognize characters from the game, ranging from Arthas and Sylvanas to the traitor Dar'Khan who can be found in the new Burning Crusade expansion.
One of the many great things about editing this series is getting to work with other people who are just as excited about creating a Warcraft graphic novel as I am. Take a good look and you'll see there's plenty of passion for this project on every page.
