The cats are back! With Mew Ichigo studying abroad in London, the remaining four girls from Cafe Mew Mew are one too few. Luckily, a new Mew is about to emerge. Berry just transferred to a different junior high because she thought their school outfits were cute. Little does she know she's about to become the first Mew Mew with TWO sets of animal genes in her blood. Half cat, half rabbit, she's joining the Mew Mew team just in time: A new gang calling itself the Crusaders has appeared, and its leader just happens to love wild game like rabbit--well done and served for his dinner! When Mew Ichigo returns from London she's going to be very, very surprised!!!

Ichigo Momomiya
She's cheerful and outgoing. She has a HUGE crush on Masaya. Her DNA was merged with that of mountain cat.

Mint Aizawa
Mint's family has big money, and she's a bit conceited at times. She's a great dancer, and her DNA was merged with that of a bird.

Lettuce Midorikawa
Lettuce is quiet and smart. She's also a very loyal friend. Her DNA was merged with that of a sea creature.

Pudding Fon
Fon's the youngest member of the team. She's very energetic and lively. Her DNA was merged with that of a monkey.

Zakuro Fujiwara
Zakuro is a bigtime famous celebrity and Mint is her #1 fan. At first, she doesn't want anything to do with this group, but eventually she comes around. Her DNA was merged with that of a wolf.

Masaya
Ichigo's crush and classmate. He's a very nice guy.

Ryou Shirogane
He's a mystery teen who was somehow involved in the DNA-merging incident.

Keiichiro Akasaka
He runs Cafe Mew Mew, the place the girls use as their headquarters.

Tokyo Mew Mew is serialized in the monthly shoujo (girls) manga anthology, Nakayoshi, and in tankoubon (graphic novel) form by Kodansha in Japan. It started publication in mid-2000 and is still releasing new issues (as of early 2003). The art is drawn by Mia Ikumi and the story is written by Reiko Yoshida.
