After Hazuki is taken away to Oyakata-sama's castle, the Nameless One gives Kouhei a powerful weapon to use in the fight to get her back. Weapon in hand, Kouhei, Kaoru, Art and Hikaru leave the island to look for gate to the Eclipse Side, which is where Hazuki is being held, but how are they supposed to find it? Only with the help of an old friend...
Kouhei Midou
Despite his entire family being famous exorcists and mediums, Kouhei has zero spiritual powers. His mother mysteriously disappeared when he was 13, and he now lives with his grandfather who owns an antique shop. He is immune to vampires controlling him even after they bite him, and he is considered to be an "Ama vampire."
Hazuki
A mysterious girl whom Kouhei met in the German castle. A vampire. She returned to Japan to search for her mother. She considers Kouhei her "slave" because he was her first bite. 11 or 12 years old. She likes to wear cat ears.
Seiji Midou
Kouhei's cousin and son of the main house of Midou. He is a famous exorcist, and he has very powerful spiritual powers.
Heidi
A cat Hazuki and Kouhei picked up when they first looked for Hazuki's mother near the lake. Named "heidi" because "hai" is "ash" in Japanese, since the cat is grey.
Hiromi Anzai
Kouhei's friend since high school. Works at a publishing firm.
"Grandpa" Ryouhei Midou
Owner of an antique store and Kouhei's grandfather. He used to be an active exorcist, but retired and runs the antique store. He is constantly seeking for clues and reasons why his daughter (Kouhei's mother) disappeared, and believes that the keyword "vampire" is the biggest clue.
Ellefreise
A vampire woman. Her special power is summoning monsters. She is under the control of Count Kinkle, and attempts to retrieve Hazuki back to the German castle. However, after sucking Kouhei's blood, she was freed of Kinkle's control.
Count Kinkle
A powerful vampire. His special power is manipulating light and turning into any form he wishes. A day walker.

Will buy 13-16 as soon as they get published, if I knew japanese I'd get them in japanese, but since things aren't as good as I'd like, then at least give some signs of life people! I'll be expecting notices for next year.

There are still those of us here who are willing and waiting for the last 4 volumes so please bring us some kind of news on this series.

Wonderful. Just got a cancellation notice on the site I ordered volume 13 from. Thanks for nothing. At least do the fans of the series a favor and don't sit on the license if you guys still have it.

Well as I see Tokyopop still says tough cookies to their customers and still won't publish the last 4 volumes of Moon Phase for those of us who spent their hard earned money on the first 12 volumes and would like to find out what happens to the end. As I see it if they will not finish a series that has lasted this long why would I spend my money on any series just so they can decide to not finish that one also? Maybe if you put out the last 4 volumes in an omnibus edition you could save money and make your customers happy at the same time?

I agree with TP taking sooooo long to say weather they plan on finishing this series I'm really hesitatent to purchase any new TP titles they come out with for fear they would not finish the series?

Soooooooooo, its been, what, 3 or 4 months since anyone from TP has said a word about Moon Phase and whether they plan to finish the series? The last volume (16) was published in Japan 3/2009. Long silences aren't really a win in customer relations. ADV's manga division found that out the hard way... even if you just say "alligators everywhere, please stand by" that would be appreciated.

Tokyopop hasn't canceled this series, they've just rescheduled the release dates for the last few volumes. I also love this series and with only 4 more volumes to go i think it's a shame Tokyopop decided to cancel this series. Oh well to bad for the customers?

I love this series! It's just the perfect mix of elements; Dark, gothic imagery, exotic vampires and unique characters, and a smattering of quirky unexpected humor. And of course, it helps that Hazuki is quite possibly one of the cutest vampires ever. Kouhei is quite lucky to have her in his life.
