Energetic teenager Shuichi Shindo is the lead singer and songwriter for the smash-hit pop band, Bad Luck. He's recently moved in with his older boyfriend, Eiri Yuki, the handsome, sophisticated, and uber-famous romance novelist. Nothing goes smoothly for Shuichi, however. Yuki is inexplicably cold and cruel toward him, more so than usual; due to a rash of publicity appearances on comedy sketch shows, he can't get anyone to take his band seriously; and he's suddenly entered, totally unprepared, into a nationally televised concert with Bad Luck's rival band, Ask. In this often touching, frequently hilarious story based on the popular manga and anime, Gravitation: The Novel details a young man's quest for success in love and music.

Eiri Yuki
In his 20s. Handsome, popular romance novel by trade, Yuki is cynical and aloof in real life. He's inexplicably drawn to Shuichi's warmth and vitality, and the two begin a tumultuous love affair that scandalizes their fans and drives them both insane.

Hiroshi Nakano
Shuichi's best friend and the guitarist for Bad Luck. He's popular, handsome, and intelligent. Hiroshi loyally shepherds Shuichi through some very trying times.

K
Formerly the Chief Executive of the Secret Service turned Ryuichi Sakuma's over-zealous bodyguard, "K" is now Bad Luck's manager. An American modern-day cowboy with passion for guns and ninja movies, K can be quite a handful.

Ryuichi Sakuma
lead singer of the famous band, Nittle Grasper, Ryuichi is Shuichi's main idol, living the high life in LA. Carefully balancing between being supportive and competitive, Ryuichi helps to inspire Shuichi about the contest!

Sakano
Shy, sweet, prone to fainting spells and ulcers, he was formerly Tohma Seguichi's right hand man at N-G Records. Now he's Bad Luck's producer.

Shuichi Shindou
19 years old. Energetic, optimistic, often ridiculous, Shuichi is living his dream as the lead singer and lyricist of his band, Bad Luck. Despite his high-energy personality, Shuichi is extremely sensitive and lacks confidence.

Tohma Seguichi
The enigmatic young president of N-G Pro Records, he's also the lead keyboardist for the legendary Nittle Grasper and the manager of band Ask. He uses his friendship with his brother-in-law, Yuki, and his clout with pop star Ryuichi Sakuma to manipulate Shuichi into an amazing performance.

Maki Murakami is the creator of Gravitation, Gamerz Heaven, and Kanpai.
