AI buster, the prequel to .hack//SIGN, is the story of Albireo,a debugger, who used to play 'Fragments,' the beta version of 'The World.'

Albireo encounters Lycoris, whom he assumes is an event NPC (an AI character) but she's actually a failed version of Aura. She is blind, deaf, and mute, because Albireo debugged her and broke up important files. The missing files are hidden as items in the World, and when returned to Lycoris, she gets a function back. When she gains them all, she changes into a teenage form with purple hair who looks like Aura. Because of his acquaintance with Lycoris, Albireo cannot log out of the game and exit the World ...

Writer Tatsuya Hamazaki is the writer of several Gundam manga, as well as the author of several One Piece novelizations.

A debugger and the main character. He is also Watarai and the Captain.

Balmung
Balmung a legendary player that is known all over the World. The wings were part of a mod he obtained during .hack//AI BUSTER. He was one of two players that destroyed the One Sin, during the "One Sin avent".

Lycoris
She is deaf, blind, and mute.

Orca
Orca: Like Balmung, Orca is a lengendary player. In the video game series, he is Kite's classmate that convinces him to play, "The World".

The .hack on Anime Central was .hack//Sign, which is slightly before this, and it crosses over from a certain part.

mmm.i was watching this a while ago on anime central. then i think they cancelled it for a while. i do not know why. they replaced all the progammes, because for the christmas holidays there was bleach every day for 2 weeks; which was brilliant.!=]. now there isnt bleach at all and it is replaced by witch hunter robin which is also good. but i miss .hack// and its not fair =[

they probably will. i mean, it is a good series, and a lot (and i do mean A LOT) of people buy it, so they would be dumb not to.

.Hack is by far one of my favorite series ever. I wish Tokyopop could publish all the other .Hack mangas and novels such as GU+, 4KOMA, XXXX, ALCOR, ZERO and CELL... I simply cant have enough of it!

I love this series, I REALLY wish they will soon make a series for the " .Dot hack // G.U." But intill then, the original .Dot Hack// will remian as my favorite.

I absolutely love this novel. It shed so much perspective out of Akira's side. Another Birth kept me wanting more and more each time, as the story unfolded. I can't wait to read the final Installment!

This volume was so awesome. I loved how everything works out in the end! Too bad we didn't get to see what Kite looked like in real person. Oh well, I do hope that they translate .hack//XXXX soon!! That's Kite's side of the story and I'm sure that it would be worth reading!!
