Interseting story...what a school. The system of the school is strangel.

04.03.2008 12:00 AM

I think this manga is advertous... The name of the character is numbers that kind of make me think that they are robarts or something agents of something insteald of a school thing. But overall is very good. But how did the girl turn to a dog? I am still confused abou that.

04.03.2008 12:00 AM

i think that fever is going to be a very powerful manga having to deal with a social issue like suicide and having the heroine of story copes with the fact of what her friends does is very cool and intense. I would like to see how the story continues.

User Reviews
User Akataiyou’s review of FEVER, Vol 1:

I found myself staring at the cover of Hee Jung Park's "Fever" as I perused the Borders today. At first glance "Fever" appeared to be your average romance novel, but, as I began to read it, I realized that the saying, "You can't judge a book by its cover," was an accurate way to describe this Korean manga, or manhwa, as it would originally be called.

In a classroom, where students are labeled by number rather than name, number 37, Hyung-In Kim, recalled that the girl known as number 47, Bo-Ram Yang, a girl who was merely an unwanted existence to most, had left an impression on Hyung-In Kim even after she had committed suicide. Hyung-In Kim, who had shut herself off from the world to begin with, lets her anger take hold of her after this unfortunate event. For example, she shockingly stabs a fellow student in the hand with a pencil and shows no signs of remorse for her actions, but, as you read on, you find that there is more to this girl than meets the eye. Hyung-In Kim isn't the only one who seems to be lost in this world however. Ji-Jun, the seemingly short-tempered orphan, and the strange Kang-Dae are having a rough time as well. Although these characters' stories differ from one another, they eventually come together in a place, and book called Fever.

As much as I enjoy the classic manga with animated bubbly-eyed characters, I found Fever very refreshing with its beautifully realistic artwork. It's no secret that this book is filled with plenty of drama, as the label suggests, but it also has a surprising amount of humor in it as well; which keeps the story from being too depressing. Also, even though you might not be in the same exact boat as the characters, you can easily relate to them. Hee Jung Park does a wonderful job of revealing some of the characters pasts in flashbacks, and their current dilemmas in a skilled manner, so that they don't just fall unceremoniously from the character's mouths. I do agree with this books "OT" rating, but would recommend this book to any kind of fan.

So please go pick up Volume 1 of Hee Jung Park's Fever! I really enjoyed it, and I think you will too.
