Vassalord is great! I saw it advertised in the back in the back of a Kyo Kara Maoh manga then I looked it up on the internet - I was hooked from the first chapter. But I think it's a shounen ai - not a yaoi - aftereall there's a reason why Rayflo calls Charley "Cherry".

Any word on volume 3? The Japanese serialization is into volume 4, but it could be another year before that's done... and it gets so , mmm, twisty (like a mad roller coaster) after volume 2. I can hardly wait! Don't worry, they do give you little tastes of who those people are/were, and why they matter at all. But, every answer brings up another question or two - or five. So much fun

Too confusing for my tastes. This manga drops you right in the middle of the story and makes no attempt to explain itself. Sometimes dropping a reader right in the middle of the story works, but only if some things are revealed to you along the way. Characters are also "introduced" (they're never given any sort of introduction) in rapid fire succession, and just as quickly as they enter, they exit, and you're left wondering "Who was that supposed to be?" There are some moments I enjoyed in this manga. The ending flashback is nice, up until that point I had been pretty certain I wasn't going to get the next volume, but that caused me to reconsider. But if the next volume is this confusing, I'm done with the series.

I had first read the first two chapters scanned, I was interested immediately in love with the story and was so happy to see it was even licensed. I love Chrono's work, the art is beautiful and the stories are so.. weird, but they work so well without being... over the top. It does have a lot of shounen-ai in it. But anyone who's read Peacemaker or anything else she's done... know that it's common in her work. She's even done slash doujinshi.

I just bought it recently and it was awsome. It definately walks a fine line between yaoi and not yaoi. The scenes with Charley and Johnny are very funny,entertaining, sexy, and sweet. If anyone has read Nanae Chrono's work before and know her style, you probably would like this. Vampire yaoi fangirls, this is a good buy. I'm looking forward to volume 2!
