So for those who have voted you guys chose Gothic Lolita.  Please remeber that I say this with no malice or hatred so no part of this is to be used as a flame ok!?  I've been a loli for 8 years so please just take this in as an informative outlook of what the world says.....

Gothic Lolita or Gosu Rori

Gothic lolita is the most common and most popular in the gothic subcategory of lolita fashion/subculture. Clothes are black and white in colour typically but the term may encompass blackxdark blue or black and red.   Usually other lolita subcategories call this the beginners lolita.  Every one I have met has started with this subcategory.  Most of the time we call it the easy lolita because it is really easy to accessorize and easy to teach you what lolita style you'd like more.

I consider goth loli to be almost a basic lolita because it matters on how you accessorize if you change the look by putting on something different like an Alice Bow you've just changed it to look Ama Loli if you add a headdress that is a solid black you've just upgraded to EGL.  I for one think it's the best way to learn about the other subcategories and figure out what you like more if you dont like sweet loli you can change it by the accessories and become a totally different lolita.

The picture I've linked it to is a picture of me and my Society girls.  we decided black and white for the new years pictures.  Just because the colors are black and white you can trully see the difference in the Hime Lolita dress I wear and the other girls who wear goth loli. 

Most people are told that this is called the "cosplayer's lolita" when in reality that is a trully horrible thing to be called (not that i have a thing against cosplayers there is a reason and I'll explain.) Please note that being called anything cosplay while in lolita is a bad thing unless you are for a fact cosplaying as a character.  It is a mean term to be called because it is telling you that you are not good enough for Lolita standards or it is saying your dress is soo cheap looking that is just a cheap costume. (I know this because i've been called this before by a newbie loli who thought she knew more than me being that she is older in age than me....)


so the next time someone says that you are  funny looking and what not just let them be by not responding it makes them the inferrior species.  One thing you will learn though if you havent already: Lolita starts from the inside not the out side.  So if you think wearing a dress that is lolita makes you lolita it doesnt it's your attitude that make you lolita.  Please if you are just interested in the fashion rather than the subculture let people know dont just say you are lolita when in reality you just love the dresses.  A real lolita would trully understand.
