The Road Ahead (A poem for the war.)

A dirt road rolls under tank treads,

It's bullets screaming towards enemy heads,

Innocent civilians dash through the streets,

Hoping to live to see next ends meets,

Masked men run amok in their towns,

Causing havoc and terror like evil clowns,

Back home we sit and pray,

While politicians sit around all day,

Debating a war we cannot revise,

Sending our soldiers to an early demise,

Some barely even 19 years old,

But the recruiter saw that they were eager and bold,

So he sent them out to cause our enemys dread,

And die for their country on the road ahead.

This is a poem I wrote for poetry month(April).
