Young Mikan runs away to Tokyo following her best friend, Hotaru, who has been enrolled in an exclusive, secretive private school for geniuses. But it turns out that Alice Academy is a lot more than meets the eye. If Mikan wants to stay by Hotaru's side, she has to both pass the strange "entrance exam" and face the even greater challenge of befriending her very odd new classmates. Whether it's Hotaru's gift for inventing gadgets, the cranky Natsume's fire-casting ability, or Professor Narumi's control of human pheromones, everyone at the school has some sort of special talent. this manga is amazing and one of the best series of shoujo out there ever made. i highly recommend this book to anyone. me and all my friends are addicted to it, i even have a friend that is a guy that likes this X3 (he's not gay, btw)

this series is TOTALLY WORTH GETTING INTO. It starts off cute and fun, then slowly turns into a darker, romatic story...it's really really AMAZING btw, GO MIKANXNATSUME!! :3

This isnt out in the UK yet..but i managed to scrounge a copy off the mothers boyfriend who works a tokyopop. I can honestly say that this is one of the best i have ever read!
Does anyone have any good suggestions of manga that is similar to this? I'm into Ouran High School also, so something about as similiar as either of them? I love this anime and manga by the way ^ ^ Gonna buy it as soon as I get the money, been reading it online already.

I didn't have any expectations when I bought it - although people said it was great. But it surprised me big time! I'm so hooked... It's just like they said: The greatest shojo universe since Fruits Basket! It has already become one of my all time favorites!

I really like the series but I still can't get used to the way they spelled Ruka's name. I now have to read it spelled as "Luca", I guess there is nothing wrong with the R-L thing but the K-C thing is what's bothering me. Oh well.

Well, I couldn't get it early cause I wasn't in the New York Anime Fes. I don't even live near New York. =___= I guess I have to wait till Dec 26 like everyone else.

I'm so excited for the release of this series! I've been following it via scans (and I've also seen the anime) for quite a while now, and as much as I love and appreciate the effects of scanlation groups, I can't wait to be able to own an English copy with no gaps in translations or English chapters (as seen with later- and some more recent- volumes).
