The lawmakers of several countries apply the rule that the state can not put forward evidence of former convictions against the accused. This rule in many cases apply even if the accused has formerly been tried for similar offences as the one in question. Especially restrictive is this practise if the accused has been acquitted of the crime he was formerly accused of.

How is my usual day at law school you ask? Well let me tell you. It consists mainly of one thing – hours and hours of reading. I read from early in the morning not uncommonly from 11 am to 10 pm (or even later depending on if I have read my dayquota). During that time I pressure my self to read a certain number of pages (that’s the dayquota). I also read in weekends, Saturday and Sunday, and then often just as long as on weekdays.
