Review Time. Today lets look at the anime My Neighbours the Yamadas

STORY. 

There isn't a story as such, instead the anime relates the live of the Yamadas. Their personal day to day happenings brought with a comical note. These daily happenings include the family forgetting the youngest daughter at the store, a fight over the remote where father wants to watch sports and mother wants to watch a romance. The anime is filled with little stories like these. 

CHARACTERS.

Takashi. The father of Noburo and Nonoko. He works hard all day in the office (although you never see him do this in the anime). Although they sometimes argue he really loves his family.

Matsuko. The mother of Noburo and Nonoko. She takes care of the household and shopping.

Noburo. He is the oldest child. He struggles with his grades and tries hard to make it through highschool.

Nonoko. She is the second child of the Yamadas and quite a bit younger than Noburo.

Grandmother. She is Takashi's mother and lives with him. She occasionally helps in the household but she expects Takashi to take care of her in her old age.

ART & MUSIC.

Both the art (4/5) and music (4/5) are excellent. Although this is a Studio Ghibli film the art is very different from their usual work. It is very losely drawn and looks more like a newspaper comic than a anime. As this anime basically is a newspaper comic made into a feature length film it is strangely fitting.

VOICE ACTING

The Japanese acting was great as usual (5/5). I didn't see the English dub so i don't know how good or bad it was. 

Personal note. Bit hard to judge this one. Although not a bad anime this isn't really my taste. The humor isn't slapstick so don't expect any Tom&Jerry style comedy. No this humor relies on good dialogue and situation humor. Unfortunately this is both good and bad as some jokes are made for Japanese or people who understand Japanese culture. Unfortunately i'm not of these people so some jokes missed me completely. I would love some input from others who have seen this anime.
