Fruits Basket Scrapbook Competition!

 

Official Rules

 

The Sponsor of this Competition is TOKYOPOP Inc.

 

1.     NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. The Fruits Basket Scrapbook Competition (“Competition”) is open only to legal residents of the 50 states of the United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 13 years old as of the date of entry. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. TOKYOPOP employees, contractors, and their families are ineligible to win.

 

2.     The Competition begins at 12:01 a.m. PDT on June 19, 2009, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PDT on July 3, 2009. Entries submitted after 11:59 p.m. on July 3, 2009, are ineligible to win. You can only enter this Competition by meeting all requirements in these Official Rules and by submitting one (1) and only one of the following (your “Submission”):

 

·         A piece of Fruits Basket fan art that you have created

·         A letter from you to Fruits Basket creator Natsuki Takaya

·         or poem about Fruits Basket that you have written

·         A Fruits Basket short story

·         A photograph of you and your Fruits Basket collection

 

No Submission may be larger than 12 inches x 12 inches or more than one page. Your submission must be a physical copy (e.g., a physical letter you’ve written on paper or an actual printed photograph). No submissions in digital formats will be accepted.

 

You may submit the original, a photocopy, or a printout; however, no entries will be returned, so if you submit your original, be sure to keep a copy for yourself.

 

You must personally create your Submission and you must complete, sign, and include the Official Entry Form with your Submission.

 

3.     Your Submission must be mailed using the U.S. Postal Service. No UPS, FedEx, email, or other method of entry will be accepted. Only one Submission per person will be eligible. Mail your Submission to:

4.     You hereby grant TOKYOPOP and its successors and affiliates the exclusive, royalty free, worldwide rights in all media now and hereafter known in and to your Submission, including but not limited to (1) all copyrights therein, (2) the right of reproduction thereof in any and all media whether now known and/or hereafter devised, in whole or in part, (3) the moral rights of artists therein, (4) the right to include the Submission in a scrapbook to be given to Fruits Basket creator Natsuki Takaya, and (5) all rights of manufacture, merchandising, recordation, reproduction, translation, adaptation, display, and exhibition thereof in whole or in part, including the right to make modifications thereto and derivatives thereof, in any and all media whether now known and/or hereafter devised and by any and all means or methods. The rights you are granting TOKYOPOP include to the right to add to, subtract from, arrange, revise, adapt, rearrange, and make variations of your Submission and to obtain copyright in the Submission in the name of TOKYOPOP. Without in any way limiting the foregoing, you acknowledge and agree that TOKYOPOP and its successors and assigns will have the right to freely sell, license, assign, and otherwise transfer any and all of the rights granted by you to TOKYOPOP hereunder and to exercise all such rights in connection with advertising, publicity, promotional materials, and distribution rights in connection with your Submission.

 

5.     No Submission will be returned. TOKYOPOP is not responsible for lost, damaged, or destroyed entries, Postal Service delays or misdeliveries, or any other problem that may affect an entry or attempted entry. TOKYOPOP may reject any entry with insufficient postage. TOKYOPOP in its sole discretion may modify or terminate the Competition prior to the stated ending date and time if technical difficulties prevent or delay the running of the Competition or due to fraud, security, or other causes beyond TOKYOPOP’s control. If the Competition is terminated prior to 11:59 p.m. (PST), July 3, 2009, eligible entries received prior to termination will remain qualified for the Competition.

 

6.     This is a judged competition. Winning entries will be selected by TOKYOPOP’s judges based on subjective creative and technical criteria. Winning entries will be included in the scrapbook to be given to Fruits Basket creator Natsuki Takaya. No other prize will be awarded.

 

The winning Submissions will be selected no later than July 22, 2009, and will be announced at www.tokyopop.com.

 

7.     By entering this Competition, you consent to TOKYOPOP’s use of your name for promotional purposes, including online announcements, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. If you are the winner, TOKYOPOP may require you to furnish proof of identity, address, and birth date as a condition to awarding the Prize to you. TOKYOPOP may also require you to sign (i) an agreement releasing TOKYOPOP from all liability in connection with personal injury or death, damage, theft, or loss in connection with the Competition and the acceptance, receipt, possession, or use of the Prize, and (ii) a publicity release, unless prohibited by law, permitting TOKYOPOP to advertise your name and state of residence. If you are the winner and you’re under the age of 18, your parent or guardian must also sign such agreements and releases. Failure to present such proof or sign such additional releases within three (3) days after notification by email will result in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize.

 

8.        By participating in the Competition, you and, if you are a minor, your parents or legal guardians agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of TOKYOPOP, which are final in all matters relating to this Competition.
