Level up!

So yeah after that I had his number. So why not tear it up. I seriously sent him texts until he told me to go to bed. It was cute having someone to finally talk to. So apparently my hormones grew out of wack. Seriously I couldn't eat, sleep, or think with out having him on my mind. It sure made  class more interesting I even mapped out how I can get next to him in class. That normally failed but I often sat across from him. I guess that's good. Well I'm not one to keep secrets so there's this point where now the whole class knows that I like him. Especially that one embarrassing time where one of my classmates asked him out for me. That didn't go over too well. Actually I thought it was over. I apologized for it and I got a response that this classmate (that happens to be male) that said that he was cute. I was so hoping that he was just bad at Japanese and didn't know what to say.

So yeah November was the same as any other month. School was really starting to drag on. I didn't enjoy it at all. Who likes being called on at random to read or say something that they nine times out of ten don't want to say or read? Well I don't. Only reason why I came to class was to see the guy I like and map out how we could sit together. November of course means mid-terms. Great a test that I can't take over.

At this point every grammar test except for one I have taken both versions of. Yeah I take good advantage of this re-take policy. But when you tell me there's no re-take I go crazy. I only have one shot at this to pass.

So the Saturday before the mid-term we had a mandatory class. Well I didn't know it was mandatory until I got the English bulletin that said it was. I was planning to skip it. What was the point the mid-term wasn't what counted anyway? But I'm glad I did go to the class. We had my favorite sensei Kagesawa-Sensei. The most cute and energetic teacher you've ever seen. There was only seven of us. I'm guessing everyone who wasn't getting Subarashii (100) or a few points off of it and had to take advantage of the re-take policy had this class. The remedial class I liked to call it. However we had more fun than everyone else who wasn't in our class. The class was small and personal and I got a lot out of it.

Right so now it is the day before the test and guess who I sit next to... Go Bunka (Yeah I'm tired of using 'the guy I like'). It was so awesome because at first he wouldn't talk to me at all. But this is class and of course we have to talk. That's the point.  So after the teacher trying to get us both to stop looking so dumb for the whole first half of the class I decided 'Hey if he doesn't say anything in 5...4...3...2... Hey so which do you like better games or anime?' in Japanese of course. So I get the instant response that nearly scared the daylights out of me 'I like them both!' That's the second time he's done that... it's creepy. After that we just had fun. The teacher passed around cards and we were supposed to ask each other questions about the cards but after a while we were just asking random questions and complaining about the sheer number of cards that we kept receiving. Even the teacher said I was quite energetic that day. Well yeah it was the first time since that day I asked his name that we were actually talking. It was the greatest day ever and again I learned so much!

So yeah the mid-term was easy. It was unusually easy. I studied so hard for it I guess. Either way I couldn't wait to get my results back. For once I felt like I passed something on the first try. Or maybe they just made it easy because we can't retake it. I don't know.

After the mid-term I went to a bar. Yes for the first time ever in my life I went to a bar. I went with a few friends to Roppongi to have what was supposedly 'The best nachos in the world.' I had some food very expensive but miniature food and two Sake bombs. That is when they pour it over the glass and into a plate. So right that was the first night that alcohol wasn't bitter to me. I enjoyed it a lot and got so drunk I couldn't say Shinjuku. It was awesome! I was so giggly and a mess. It took my mind off everything from my failing grades to Gobunka. I'm starting to love this nomunication. However, I left my coat in the bar and had to make a trip back the next day after my usual Harajuku weekly run.

So the next week we had class interviews. It was interesting because I had no idea what they were about. Some people were assigned interviews and others got to pick. I was assigned the very next day. Great. So I went to my interview. It was in the middle of my extra-help class. When I went down there my favorite teacher Kagesawa-sensei was there so she gave me my mid-term. It was awesome. Not only did I pass but the scores were 69, 75, 78, and 80. It was great I really needed to pass and my test really pulled through. So I was assigned Shouji-sensei but she wasn't there and I don't like her anyway. So I got an interview with my favorite teacher instead. Was really awesome because I told her how boring the class is and how hard it is and how much I liked Gobunka. It was a nice way to start the weekend. Also I had suggested that we play a game in class and we did that day. I really loved it. But I knew I would have to go to Yamanashi the next day and I really wasn't feeling that at all.

So now it's Saturday and all my bags are packed and I've awakened my dormmate and we're off to the school to get ready for the trip. It was going to be a long bus ride. It didn't help that everyone played Mario Kart the whole time and I had no idea that we could just download play so I didn't play. I didn't have any money because I was late coming and they were selling this grape soy milk ice cream everywhere. I really wanted some but I was broke and my friend didn't have the money to lend me in her current possession. The views of Fuji San were awesome and some people really got some great pictures of it.

We visited the House of  Kinjiro Ninomiya which was a really cool experience. It was just a hut made of wood and they used no nails or anything just interlocked the beams. Also the smoke form the fire in the house would keep the bugs from eating at the wood. It was cool how they did that.  Then we went to Odawara Castle which really isn't a castle at all and is a huge museum with weapons and armor and the like. It was really cool. They also had monkeys and elephants which made absolutely no sense but they were there.

We were supposed to go to Owakudani which is an old crater in the ground that was caused by an eruption of a volcano like 3000 years ago. But the traffic getting to two of the places was so bad that we had to cut it out. Too bad I really wanted some black eggs. It would be nice to extend my life another seven years.

So instead we went to the hotel. It was awesome. We played in the ballroom until dinner was served. Oh man dinner was awesome! It was a buffet style dinner that had food that had food that I was used to eating. Fried chicken, rice, soups, all sorts of assorted food. It was awesome. I ate until I was tight and then I took a trip to the onsen.

The onsen is a community bathhouse. You shower real good and then you get into the bath to soak. I really enjoyed every bit of it. It was great. I got a little giggly and clumsy and fell into the bath. Great turns out I was taking a wine bath. Doesn't matter it was awesome. There is a place where you can look over at the men but would you really want to?

So the next day was greeted by a big breakfast. It had french toast and everything. Then we got on the bus and this time I played Mario Kart as we went to eat. We went to a sushi restaurant with the rotating belt. It really tested my hand-eye coordination. Then we went to the most beautiful temples and shrines I had ever seen. I saw twins at a festival at Takeda Jinja along with some that ice cream finally. I went to the most beautiful temple ever and saw the most beautiful scenery ever. I went to a village where I tried on a kimono. All the pictures are on my facebook that I was forced to join.  I thought I wouldn't enjoy the Yamanishi trip but it was one of the biggest highlights of the month.

It ended however pretty sour with the fact that I got stood up on a date with Gobunka. So we went to Yokahama and we saw the greatest dance show ever. Not to mention the hottest guys ever were dancing.

Well that's the report for November. December is on its way I swear along with a miniblog that will cover oddities in Japan.
