CHAPTER 8

 "Ken, hey get up, they're leaving." Rodney had been hiding in the parking lot of the mall ever since his encounter with Seth and Felix. "Ken, what's wrong with you, I said get up!" He was fed up with having Ken as his partner, and he didn't understand why Chase had teamed them up.

 "What's wrong with you, seriously what crawled up your bottom today? Besides, we'll kill those to fast, just like that last chick. What was her name...? Oh well, who cares." Ken finally got up from the grass and stood by Rodney. "So what's the girl's name anyways?"

 "I didn't f***ing get it alright! Felix an Seth intruded in my plans."

 "Those two don't have anything special about them, and Cynthia would have them killed before they even knew what hit them. She's actually one f***ing scary seven year old." Ken didn't seem to have any interest in the new target. "So was this chick hot or anything?"

 "She's alright, not really my type." Rodney was absolutely lieing because ever since he spotted her, he had an immediate attraction to her.

 "In other words, she's really hot and you have a crush on her." Ken smirked at him. Rodney really hated mind-readers, especially this particular one.

 "Stop doing that! It's goddamn annoying," Ken kept grinning. "We need to leave now or we'll lose track of them." They both got into the black car and followed Amelia and the others home.

CHAPTER 9

 We reached the house just as my Dad arrived. He seemed a bit surprised that I was in the house with a couple of guys.

 "Amelia you're home, and who would these two gentlemen be?"

 "Dad this is Felix and Seth, they're my friends. So hey, um...Dad...I was wondering if they could possibly stay here for the night?"

 Dad looked at my pouty face and said, "I'm not so sure Amelia, when your Mother comes home, we'll discuss this further.

 I sighed, "Alright." Right at that moment Cathy came in through the front door. Dad looked ecstatic to she her.

 "Dad! I'm glad to see you!." I seemed to be the only one in this family that wasn't all happy-happy-joy-joy to see her here today.

 "When did you get home? Did you say hi to your sister and her friends?"

 "Yeah, we all meet earlier today." I was paying very little attention to what they were talking about.

 It was around seven o'clock when my Mom finally came home. I think she was even more shocked at seeing Seth and Felix than my Dad was. Dad quickly explained to her my proposition.

 "Amelia, Gereld can you please follow me to the kitchen." She turned toward Seth and Felix, "We'll be right back. Cathy keep our guests company." Cathy nodded in response.

 We were in the kitchen and the first thing my mom does is start yelling at me in whispers, "Amelia! What is wrong with you that mind of yours!? These kids are complete strangers to us and that's why I will definitely not allow them to stay in my house!"

 "But Mom, they have nowhere to stay right now," okay so that wasn't completely true but oh well. "C'mon Mom, please!"

 "Did you not hear me the first time, I said no Amelia." My mind began to race with thoughts but what I repeatedly kept thinking was, LET THEM STAY, GOD!

 "Actually, alright Amelia, they can stay." Did i hear that correctly?

 "Honey, are you sure?" Dad was staring at her.

 "I didn't say anything," she replied with a blank stare.

 "Yes you did Mom, you said they could stay. So as a good daughter would do, I'll listen to whatever you say." I smiled at them both and then quickly left the kitchen and headed to the living room before they changed their minds. I could still hear when Dad asked my Mom what that was all about, but hey I wasn't going to question it at all.

 I entered the living room," Hey guys, you can stay and...uh where's Cathy?"

 They both shrugged. "She got a phone call and it sounded urgent so she left," Felix answered.

 "Okay...anyways you two can sleep on the sofas here and just let me go get you some blankets and pillows, and your set." I left before either of them could respond. I was soon back with blankets and pillows in my arms. "Here you go." I handed it over to them.

 "Thanks a lot for letting us stay here," Seth tiredly commented.

 "No prob, well I think you two should get some rest, since you’re really looking worn out right now."

  They looked at each other and laughed, "Yeah I think we will," Felix replied.

 "If you need anything, feel free to ask. Okay then, I'm going to go to bed too, so see you in the morning." Seth and Felix both said 'good-night' and I headed upstairs, brushed my teeth, put on my plaid pajama pants and a white t-shirt to sleep in, and instantly fell asleep.
