Chapter Fifty-Seven
Alice had felt Ken and Rodney’s presence way before either of them had reached the mansion. The plan was to stop them at any cost from completing their mission to kidnap Amelia. Scenario and Alice had reached the back door just as they were heading out. Alice quickly stepped in front of Ken’s way and Scenario in Rodney’s.
“Now where do you two think you’re going?”
“Heading out,” Ken retorted.
Alice laughed, “Hah, okay just put her down because there is no way we’re letting you go.”
“And who’s going to stop us?”
“I highly doubt either one of you could go up against us.”
Ken grinned, “You may be right but just how long can you last against your own kind?”
Scenario was confused, “What the hell are you talking about?”
That’s when Alice sensed the other presences behind them, and so she easily caught the knife coming towards her.
Scenario stared at the knife and he then realized what was happening, “No way!” he turned and saw Jaime and Matt.
“It’s nice to see you,” Alice was acting as calm as she possibly could. Scenario on the other hand, could not keep the shock from showing on his face. Matt and Jaime used to be their partners in Gang Zero, until Alice and he left in order to search for Amelia.
“Well if it isn’t the old leader,” Jaime said sarcastically.
“It’s been almost two years now and it seems you two have switched sides, which is a rather f***ing pathetic move.” Alice said in a matter of fact way voice.
Matt snarled, “You have the audacity to judge our decisions?! Let me tell you something, the day you two left we erased you from our minds.”
Scenario despised the position they were all in, especially since Matt and he were the best of friends before and now they were archenemies.
Alice slightly grimaced, “Well, I can also say that I’ve disposed of all the memories of you.”
“Never in my life will I come to understand how Jaime and I were ranked below either of you,” Matt barked.
“I’ll be pleased to show you,” Alice answered. “Scen you get Amelia,” she commanded just as Matt came running at her. Matt punched just as Alice dodged to the side.
“I’m going to kill you, Al!” he screamed.
“We’ll see about that!” shouted back.
Scenario looked back to where Ken and Rodney were but they were both long gone. “Shit, they’re gone!” Suddenly a knife shot across Scenario’s face and he immediately turned to Jaime.
“You’re not going anywhere.”
“Jay, I don’t want to fight!”
“Well that only makes one of us,” she flung six more knives at him but he caught every single one of them.
“Scen now!” he heard Alice shout and that was his signal to begin to bring the fog over them. Jaime knew that it would be the perfect opportunity to attack him since she understood that Scenario needed to be in complete concentration. She attacked again but they all stopped midway and that’s when Bryce came into the fight.
“Scen, I’ll handle her,” he said.
Jaime laughed, “Who’s this?” Bryce flashed lighting down just as she stepped back. “Oh, I see, we’ve got ourselves a lightning boy.” Bryce quickly created a ball of electric ions and threw it at her. She barely dodged as it blew up, and she threw six knives toward him, but they were all ineffective.
“They won’t work since the electrical force around me stops all conductors, that includes your metal knives,” he informed her. She frowned and then noticed the fog growing thicker.
Matt attempted to punch Alice but missed and hit the ground, which shook.
“Shit,” Alice hissed.
“As you can tell, I’ve become much stronger than before.”
“Yeah, I’ve noticed,” she whispered to herself. It was fairly easy for her to feel him coming in for an attack, since Matt let off an enormous amount of energy without even realizing it. So when she felt his energy behind her, she turned and caught his punch, which Matt reacted by spin kicking just as Alice ducked forward.
“What’s wrong? Are you too weak to fight back!?” Matt muttered. Alice then quickly did a low spin kick but he jumped and he then attempted to kick her. Alice rolled to her left and pushed her self of the ground. That’s when they first started noticing the fog around them develop. “Do you really think a little fog will slow me down?”
Alice was very well accustomed to fighting in fog but she didn’t know what to expect from Matt. He then ran straight at her but now Alice was changing her attitude to a more serious one. With just the wave of her hand she set up her heat wall, which slightly threw Matt off since he couldn’t see her wall but he could surely feel its tremendous heat. “This little wall of yours won’t hold me back for long!” he shouted.
Alice then ran right through the wall and punched Matt in the jaw. The thing was that her punch wasn’t like any normal one, since she had made the temperature in blood that went to her hand increase, so it felt as if he had been hit in the face by flames. Alice was positive that she had hit him but she then heard him chuckling.
“Hah that tickled,” he boasted, “Whoa, you’ve really grown weaker.” He grabbed her hand and yanked her forward so he could knee her hard against her ribs. Alice felt the wind be knocked out of her and she fell to the ground coughing and gasping for air.
She slowly got back up on her feet while holding her side, “Crap…” she muttered. That’s when she made the decision to get more serious because at the rate she was going, she most defiantly would die. Alice ran to get some space between Matt and her, and then she started to recite the incantation, “Με αυτήν τη μεγάλη δύναμη, θα ζητούν τις φλόγες για να προστατεύσουν εμένα. Δανείζουν μου τη δύναμη του Θεού Sun, Helios, γι 'αυτό μπορούν να καίγονται και εκείνων εναντίον μου βούληση. Μαιος αυτές φλόγες ανάφλεξη και του χορού μέσα μου, και σε αντάλλαγμα θα σας τις ζωοτροφές τους σπινθήρες υπόλοιπο της ζωής.”** Matt could hear Alice chanting and he could now see that she had gotten completely serious with him.
Alice felt the changes the chant evocated. Her eyes changed to a ruby red and her body temperature rose seven times higher than any normal humans. She could see the bright red energy burst around her like dancing flames.
Matt had reached her just as she finished the transformation and the fog became even denser. Alice didn’t see this as a dilemma since she was used to fighting in that condition and now her eyes could see people’s body heat. Matt also wasn’t having many problems because he had taught himself to depend on all his other senses besides sight. The first attack came from Matt, he went for Alice and aimed a punch at her face but Alice had seen him coming before he even moved. She effortlessly caught his fist and set his hand on fire. Matt could feel the blood in his hand begin to boil and his skin start to burn. He immediately yanked his hand away and spun kick to the left but Alice caught his leg as well and quickly maneuvered to her right so she could grip his neck. She sent waves of intense heat through her body. He could feel pools of blood building up in his body and blood was leaking out of his mouth, and in an attempt to free himself he tried to punch Alice with his other hand, but she just caught his hand and dislocated it from his wrist.
She let him go and he backed away as both his hands were now unusable. Yet in his condition, he still had his mind set on killing Alice and Scenario, even at the cost of his life because he had made a promise to himself, and he would never go back on his word.
When Alice noticed Matt back away, she released her energy and her body slowly went to its original state. “I’m not going any further,” she assured him.
“That may be your choice, but I’m here to finish this once and for all,” he spat back.
“As much as I’d love to finish this up, you do know that Jaime isn’t doing so great.”
Jaime had no other choices besides fighting hand to hand, which she wasn’t bad in but she was having to fight Bryce and Scenario at the simultaneously. At that exact moment she was caught off guard and that’s when Bryce sent a shock of electricity through her body. She tumbled to the ground and she laid there as she felt smoke come off her body. She was badly hurt, but even though she was in that terrible state, she attempted getting up. Scenario couldn’t believe his eyes, but he knew he couldn’t allow her to keep on going so he ran behind her and held a tight grip on her neck.
“Jay! Just stay down or God help me I will break spinal cord!” Scenario warned.
“Go ahead Scen, kill me!” Scenario of course couldn’t go through with is because Jaime was still an important person to him, just as Matt was, but he had made his decision to follow under Alice for however long he lived.
“Scen, watch out!” Bryce cried out. Scenario moved out of the way, as Matt came to Jaime.
“You alright?” a voice asked from behind Scenario. He turned to see Alice with her hands deep in her pockets, he nodded. “Good, we’d better hurry because I can barely make out Amelia’s presence.”
“Let’s go then, but hey what about them?” he motioned his head to Matt and Jaime.
“We’ll be seeing them again, but right now we have to find Amelia.” Alice and Scenario began to run and Bryce soon caught up to them.
“Why aren’t they following us?” Bryce asked.
“They’re worn out, but so are we. Anyways we’re sure to meet up soon.” Alice replied.
**”With this great power, I solicit the flames to protect me. Lend me the power of the Sun God, Helios, so I may burn those against my volition. May these flames ignite and dance within me, and in return I shall feed you their remaining sparks of Life.” (pop if you enjoyed it :] )
