CAN YOU SEE PASS PERCEPTION?
Rei-li Kai
Prologue Dear Journal, Looking back I can remember our less then memorable childhood, if you could call it that. I can remember her family- if you can consider them human and most of all I can remember my best friend covered in black and blue. But I suppose all this is unrelated, I suppose that this isn’t really important to anything. Not that I’m important, or at least that’s what I’ve been told to believe. Kokoro was my best friend and I can safely say we were inseparable… "Kokoro, you have a visitor," A man said as he opened the door revealing a boy her own age. The boy’s ruby eyes settled on her as she just continued her drawing. She never looked up no once even after he had taken a seat next to her near the desk. Two tone blue gray hair was pulled into a low pony tail at the back of his head and baggy black cloths adorn his body. His shoulders were broad and his posture straight as he sat quietly. It had been the same thing since he had first come here. Welcome to the Tokyo Mental institute where people who are ‘crazy’ or ‘insane’ come to get ‘help’. Small swift hands moved across a piece of paper as Kokoro continued to draw, the picture of a bird flying away. "So how was your day?" he asked, he received silence, he sighed now used to it, "Mine was great. I meet a new kid at school to day , he’s cool a little odd but cool. Anyway..." and this is how it went everyday he’d come and just kinda talk to himself while she doodled. Interesting right. Sapphire eyes watched him carefully as she continued to draw the same line over and over again with out him noticing. He was talking about his school life and contrary to what he thought she was listening and finding it very interesting oh yes an ordinary school life.
Kokoro has been at the Tokyo "Heero it’s time to go," a nurse whispered from the door. Outside the sun is setting casting a warm glow over the sky, coloring it with neon colors.
I miss her but it’s not like I don’t see her any more. I see her everyday, "Okay just give my a minute," Heero called back, getting up from his chair, he turned to Kokoro and looked down only to seem her sheen chocolate brown hair, "Guess I’ll see you tomorrow Hikari-chan" he said leaving.
But I don’t need to know the reason, no I’m just glad someone’s other than me and the staff is finally talking to her. But still I can’t bare to see her like that. Every time my eyes meet hers it seems like she’s dying inside. I don’t like that feeling, because I’m powerless to help her and stop her suffering. But there’s nothing I can do but sit back and let time do the rest. -Koden A boy with midnight blue eyes and matching spiky hair walked down the street ignoring everything as he made his way to a large building. TOKYO MENTAL HOSPITAL was posed in big bold letters up on the roof, not that he really took notice as he made his way into the alley way next to the building. The building next to T.M.H. was abandoned many years ago, but he ignored the warning signs and entered. Swiftly and silently he made his way up the rotting stair to the roof. The sky was already dark and the moon glowed brightly high in the sky in between the clouds. A soft breeze tickled his senses as he looked across the roof to where the figure of a girl stood, her sapphire eyes dulled in the darkness. Silenced passed between them then finally...
What you see isn't alway what you get. But when what you see isn't what other people see, they tend to think you crazy. Hence the reason Kokoro Hikari lives in Tokyo's Mental Intitution. For when you can hear voices no one else can, see creatures that aren't suppose to exist, and insist that the little pink fairy fluttering over your shoulder can explain things, you know your going a little insane.
