Superb Book Keeps Reader Wanting More
Review of "Tomo I Was an Eighth-Grade Ninja" by ZGraphicNovels

Zmangagirl's Rating: 5 of 5

I just finished reading Tomo: I Was an Eighth-Grade Ninja. It's about this eighth-grade student, Hana, who recently immigrated to the United States to live with her grandfather. Her grandfather has some secrets that make life a little dangerous for her, her grandfather, and Tomo, the racoon who's more of a friend than pet. These animal-like villains from another dimension are after that secret and will stop at nothing to get it.

It was a quick read and a real page-turner. I got a little lost at the end but the storyline has me wanting more. I am looking forward to reading the next volume.

I love how I get to learn a little Japanese. This is more than an action adventure type of manga. It explores the life and problems of adolescence and adjusting to a new environment. It's an easy read and it's great that the hero in this story is a girl and a teenager.

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have.
