The four-member girl band SCANDAL will head to the United States, France, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Taiwan as part of their world tour next year. Exact dates and locations have yet to be announced, so stay tuned on their website! The band will begin their tour in Atsugi, Kanagawa, Japan in January, with shows planned nationwide through April 19, 2015.
SCANDAL was formed in August 2006 by four high school girls - Haruna, Mami, Tomomi, and Rina - after they met in an Osaka vocal and dance school called Caless. Shortly thereafter, they started performing live every weekend at Shiroten in Osaka Castle Park. The band's name originates from a sign near Studio Brotherz, a studio where they practiced in their early days. The studio is on the sixth floor of a building shared with other businesses, namely adult shops. The girls decided to choose the biggest sign among the shops, "Scandal" (スキャンダル), as the name for their band.
SCANDAL signed with indie label Kitty Records and released three singles exclusive to Tower Records in 2008. The band has performed theme songs for Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Loups-Garous, Star Driver, and most recently this summer's Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction film.
